Fraud Baltijasstils.lv

Topic summary

A customer purchased a product that arrived on September 19 with significant quality issues: wrong material, incorrect sizing, and poor tailoring that didn’t match the website’s description or photos.

Seller’s Response:

  • Refused to accept returns or issue refunds
  • Only offered discount coupons instead
  • Deliberately delayed providing the official return form since September 19
  • Deleted their Facebook page after receiving multiple negative reviews

Additional Concerns:

  • Customer was contacted by another website (precenis.lv) without consent, suggesting potential GDPR violations and a fraudulent network
  • The seller appears to operate multiple similar sites (baltistiil.ee, kauba.ee) that resell cheap products from Temu/AliExpress at marked-up prices with fake discounts

Customer Demands:

  • Full refund within 14 days
  • Return form and seller-paid return shipping
  • Threatens to report to Latvia’s Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC) and escalate under EU consumer protection regulations

A community member recommended reporting the merchant directly to Shopify, though noted Shopify isn’t liable for merchant conduct and refunds are unlikely through that channel. The discussion remains unresolved.

The product was received on September 19. Upon inspection, I discovered that its quality does not correspond to the description or the photographs provided on the website. Specifically:

The material does not match the advertised one.
The size does not correspond to the size chart or the stated measurements.
The tailoring and overall finish are of poor quality and not as shown in the product photos.

According to the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the Latvian Consumer Protection Law, the buyer has the right to return a product of unsatisfactory quality and receive a full refund.

However, the seller has refused to accept the return and issue a refund, instead offering discount coupons. Moreover, the seller has been deliberately delaying the resolution of my refund request in correspondence and has failed to provide the official return form since September 19, despite repeated requests.
In addition, I was contacted from another website, https://precenis.lv/, even though I never gave consent to share my personal data and used only the email address [email removed] for communication. This strongly indicates that this is part of a fraudulent scheme and, urthermore, it constitutes a violation of GDPR regulations regarding the protection of personal data.
Such conduct demonstrates bad faith, fraudulent commercial practices, and direct violations of both EU and Latvian legislation.
I hereby demand:

A full refund of the purchase price to my bank account within 14 calendar days.
Immediate provision of the return form and acceptance of the product at the seller’s expense.
Any further delay after September 19 will be considered a violation of my consumer rights and will be formally
reported to the Consumer Rights Protection Centre of Latvia (PTAC) and escalated under EU consumer protection regulations.

Important: Previously, customer reviews were publicly available on the seller’s Facebook page, but the seller has since deleted their Facebook page after receiving multiple negative reviews and complaints. This further indicates fraudulent and dishonest business practices.

Hi @SimLan

Welcome to the community, but sorry to hear about your bad experience.

From the looks of it there are a few more similar sites ( baltistiil . ee and kauba . ee ) and maybe more. All use cheap products from Temu or AliExpress and sell for a higher price, but still advertise 50% discounts, a really bad practice. A red flag for me.

You can, if you are not already, report the merchant at

Issue with an order or fraud and see what Shopify say. But do not expect a refund from them, you can demand all you want, they are covered, as they are not liable for how and what users sell. If there is fraud they can close that and other shops, though.

Good luck, and hope you do get a refund.
