Google Merchant Center — Not all products are syncing

Topic summary

A Shopify user encountered an issue where newly added products failed to sync with Google Merchant Center, despite older products syncing correctly.

Troubleshooting attempts included:

  • Verifying products were added to the Google & YouTube Channel
  • Confirming SKUs and inventory quantities were present
  • Comparing syncing vs. non-syncing product configurations

Community suggestions:

  • Edit product details to trigger a manual sync push
  • Consider alternative apps, as the official Google & YouTube app has persistent reliability issues
  • Review product eligibility, GTIN requirements, and market settings

Resolution:
The issue was resolved by:

  1. Removing data sources from Google Merchant Center
  2. Disconnecting the Google & YouTube Channel app from Shopify
  3. Reconnecting the app

All products began syncing successfully after reconnection. Some discussion arose about the limitations of the official app and methods for forcing resyncs, though specific force-resync procedures weren’t clearly defined.

Not all of my products are syncing from Shopify to Google Merchant Center. I noticed that the most recent products that I have loaded are the culprits.

I have tried many different things.

  • Compared syncing products vs non-syncing products
  • Made sure the products are on the Google & YouTube Channel
  • Made sure I have SKUs for my products
  • Made sure there is an inventory quantity for all products

Try editing the product details, that may trigger a push.

Just an FYI, the google and youtube app is not great, you will always have random issues that you can’t easily fix. And this is now in existence for 4 years or more. For my clients I use: https://apps.shopify.com/multiple-google-shopping-feeds If you want something better.

Hi @timetimetime

If your new Shopify products are not syncing with Google Merchant Centre (GMC) via the Google & YouTube Channel, but older ones are syncing fine, here’s a step-by-step solution to troubleshoot and fix it:

@Confirm Product Eligibility for Sync

@Check Product Status in Google & YouTube App

@Missing GTIN
@Products Are in the Correct Market

@Force Resync

Let me know if this works.

@Dotsquares Please explain how you can force a resync?

The google and youtube app only has 1 market, which is google shopping / local listings / free listings, what are you referring to?

The user has already checked the product status, care to explain, how the user can check the status any other way?

The user has already confirmed it is eligiable for syncing, in the screenshot the OP shared, care to share what you are reffering to?

Thank you for the pointers! This is very helpful, and the app suggestion is great.

Fantastic. Thank you for the checklist. I would also like to know how to perform a force reset.

I figured out the issue. I want to post this so other people will know what the solution is.

  • I removed the data sources from Google Merchant Center
  • I disconnected the Google & YouTube Channel App from Shopify
  • Reconnected the Google & YouTube Channel App in Shopify

Everything started syncing once I reconnected the channel app. I hope this helps someone.
