Has anyone else experienced missing variants from their account?

All of our variants disappeared from our shopify account today. Did this happen to anyone else?

No this doesn’t happen.

Did you save the product after adding the product variants

They have been in there since January, and all of a sudden they disappeared this morning.

Did that happen for any one product or all products?

Well, there was a big Shopify UX change today, and about 250 variants disappeared from our product page, which could only be done one by one. Shopify support doesn’t seem to know why. I have a 2nd Shopify site with variants that did NOT disappear. It seems like the solution is to just add them back in…but it doesn’t explain WHY it happened?

I have two shopify sites. It happened to ALL of the variants for one site but did not affect the other shopify site. I just spoke with Shopify and they do not have answers but will follow up with me. They could not explain how they vanished.

Did you find a solution? Same happened to us. 1,000’s of variants gone. wtf.

Happened to our site as well. We’re missing dozens (if not hundreds) of variants as of the update. Still assessing the damage.

Shopify said their system upgrades had nothing to do with our variants disappearing and couldn’t help us, so we spent a day adding all 300 variants back into shopify? Kind of messed up that Shopify didn’t acknowledge it was their mistake

Wow, what a joke. 1000% related to their update. Nice response, Shopify…

I first noticed pretty much all of our pages tied into the Bold Product Options app weren’t working, so at first I figured it was that. Looking deeper into it, we also found normal default theme template product pages that do not use 3rd party apps that lost all but one variant.

Did you found out what happened and how to fix it? It happened to us as well and it’s November 2023 so the problem is still going on since July! So frustrating that Shopify can’t help. All they said was to save a back up always after making any changes…
