Honest feedback on my store, please! :)

Topic summary

Main issue: Conversion rate (CR) is 0.34%, prompting requests for honest store feedback to improve design and performance.

Key feedback themes:

  • Trust & transparency: Missing or unclear business address raised concerns. Claims of an office/warehouse appear inconsistent, creating a dropshipping perception due to stock/Amazon-style images. Clearer shipping info and more consistent reviews recommended.
  • Design & UX: Homepage is cluttered, value proposition gets lost. Simplify hero, promote main categories, shorten product copy, reduce header height, fix cut-off hero slider, and resolve “&” display issues. Improve checkout branding. Add bundles/deals and a sticky “Add to cart.”
  • Cart optimization: Leverage slide-out cart with progress bars (e.g., toward free shipping), upsells/cross-sells, and complementary suggestions. Avoid multiple small apps; consider an all-in-one cart tool.
  • Content & engagement: Add social links, videos, and human imagery to build connection. Consider AR (Augmented Reality) and 3D product viewers to boost engagement and reduce returns.

Seller updates so far:

  • Added social media links to the footer and reorganized homepage sections.
  • Plans to add human/customer photos and personalize product pages.
  • Will shorten homepage, remove redundant blocks, and configure related/“goes well with” items.
  • Exploring cart enhancements and possibly an app; considering more address transparency.

Status: Ongoing. No resolution yet; AR/3D and address transparency remain open decisions.

Hey everyone!

I’ve been running this shop together with my spouse for the last 1 1/2 - 2 years and we do have sales; so all in all the trick is working out, but i would like to have some feedback of some knowledgeable people.

Our CR is currently at 0,34% which isn’t good at all, so i just assume there is some work to be done or tweaks to be made.

Please be as honest as you can be. I dearly appreciate every point brought up and any idea written.

Thanks so much!

Address isn’t a business, which is odd because you claim to have an office and warehouse.

If you do indeed have a physical warehouse, it would seem silly not to put your business address in Contact, and also to have a physical store, or at least have the ability to sell in person.

If not, then you are likely misleading, and it would be wise to change the way you present your business.

Either way, something isn’t quite right here. The product categories and brands indicate a low-level dropshipping scheme, which is also supported by the Amazon product images, lack of address transparency, and overall look and feel of the site.

Hi @decky

In general, your store is good. Clearly, some work was put in, and you did some things right. Enough content, OK images, blog, good menu, and a solid theme. A lot of payment options. But you should have more than that 0.34%.

I noticed there is no mention of your social networks anywhere. A bit strange, you should have some, no?

Second thing, your theme is a bit too clean, black and white mostly, and some parts that should have stood out more and more blended. So it could be missed, glanced over. And I could not see any video on your store, as well as some images with a human in them. I think both are important for any store to make a connection. I mean, you are not selling products only, but also the emotions they trigger. And that is missing for me.

Your home page is a bit cluttered, with too many sections. Some repeats, some could be placed more at the top. Again, that welcome message in the middle of the page is not enough to connect with customers. The About page has some insight. And as a gamer, maybe you use a good amount of those products, so a personal message on the product page could be a nice touch. Check this topic and store User feedback. Even if it’s a different niche, you can see things you could use.

And for other things, I think the header is too big, a lot of space, could be 2x smaller. It does push important content down. An announcement bar could use links. Hero slider on wider screens does get cut off a bit. In the menu and some sections and descriptions, you have & and it should not show. The product page could use some bundles and deals. You do have products that go well together. The sticky add to cart is missing for me. The cart slideout is a bit empty. Maybe an opportunity to upsell something. The checkout page could be configured a bit to match the rest of the site.

And to advertise a bit: we have a new app that helps a bit with sending the right message at the right time to customers. If you have time, check it out Atomato - clean, high-converting alerts

So to summarize, your store (game) needs better graphics, a better story, and some great cut scenes.

Hope your sales do improve, but you also need a bit of work. Good luck.

From what I’m seeing on your store, the biggest opportunity for improvement is definitely your cart experience. You already have a slide-out cart, which is a great foundation, but right now it isn’t being used to its full potential. When a customer adds a product, they should instantly see engaging elements that encourage them to continue - things like a progress bar showing how close they are to unlocking free shipping or an extra discount. This small psychological nudge alone can lift conversions and AOV significantly, especially for accessory-based stores like yours.

Another area to focus on is making better use of in-cart product suggestions. Since you offer a wide variety of accessories across multiple gaming devices, the cart should automatically surface complementary items that pair well with what the customer just added. For example, if someone adds a joystick cap set, the cart could suggest grips, protective cases, or even bundles that include the same item. Right now customers don’t get exposed to these options after adding to cart, which means you’re missing easy upsell opportunities.

I would also strongly recommend avoiding the use of multiple small apps just to customize different aspects of your cart. It usually increases your monthly cost and can slow down your storefront. Instead, using an all-in-one cart customization app like iCart is a more efficient approach. It gives you everything in one place - progress bars, upsells, cross-sells, product recommendations, notes, and much more - without the risk of conflicts or performance issues.

Hi @decky

Your store is beautifully branded, but the homepage is cluttered, and your value proposition is lost in the mix. Simplify hero content, promote main categories, and shorten product copy for clarity. Build trust with clearer shipping information and more consistent reviews. Clearer navigation and more focused messaging will likely contribute to meaningful conversion gains over time.

Thank you very much for your feedback!

We are indeed operating out of spare space in our home - garage, spare rooms; you name it. So we have built up quite a lot of product and company dedicated space, but we have no real “in person shop” or “dedicated building as office/warehouse”.

We activley decided against “promoting” that we are running from home, but then again you have a point - it could build transparency/trust.

Towards the brands:

Those are the current top of the line manufactureres of handheld gaming equipment - so i can’t change those. But we do just work with their supplied pictures which does indeed add to the “low quality dropshipping theme”; which is why we try to emphasize the “german warehouse” ( ) story.

We will take your feedback into account when we are adressing the issues. Thank you again!

Thanks for taking your time to give us your feedback - we really appreciate it!

You’re points are super valid and we are currently already planning on what to do, to fix your raised points. For one, i’ve added our Social Media Accounts to the footer - we haven’t been very active there, but we are trying to do more. I have also moved some stuff around in regards to the position where it is on the page.

But i totally agree, what we lack in total is “personality”. No pictures of us, no pictures of customers products (we are planning on activley collecting those.) - just a shop without humans visible. We will try to change that as one of the priorities.

I appreciate your feedback and also the link with an amazing example - we will definitley take your feedback into account when making changes. Thank you so much!

Thank you for your honest feedback!

You absolutely have a point - the “goes will with” section is super neglected from us; we still need to edit the “similar” product settings as we have never utilized it. That the cart is a thing that could make a difference, actually never came to my mind - thank you!

We will be looking into the topic, our possibilties and that app. Even if it is an ad; if things really do have an impact, there is no shame in that.

Thank you for your feedback!

We will definitely shorten our homepage and remove the redudant blocks as you are completely right; the trust indicators should be more visible when the page is not as cluttered.

Appreciate, that you took the time to respond!

Hey @decky,

Happy to hear that you’ve made a lot of progress in a short period of time.

Look at it from the customer’s perspective. You’re targeting a specific audience: gamers. Gamers love interactive and immersive experiences. So what if, while shopping on your website, they could engage with your products in a fun and unique way?

My suggestion would be to add Augmented Reality and 3D product viewers to your store. It’s very accessible now and easier to set up than most people think. Instead of just looking and scrolling through your products, customers would be able to interact with them and even view them in their own space before making a purchase. This helps them understand the products better and choose the perfect one more quickly.

Your website would look more modern and tech-forward. Stores that use AR and 3D usually see higher engagement, stronger brand recognition, faster decision-making, and more sales, with fewer returns.

Wishing you luck!

Hey Kevin,

Everyone’s giving great feedback on your store design but have you looked at your traffic quality?

0.34% CR could mean your store needs work… or it could mean a big chunk of your traffic is low-intent visitors who were never going to buy.

Quick question: do you know if your conversion rate differs by traffic source? (Google vs. Facebook vs. Direct, etc.)

If one source converts way better than others, that might tell you more than redesigning your homepage.

Just a thought.

Interesting idea! Thanks for the inspiration - thats definitely a thought for later down the line. Appreciate it.

Fair point! Most of our traffic is generated through Blog Articles, as we aim to be a topical authority in the market. So a lot of people will hit our page without ever having purchasing intent; which hopefully then gets converted into the said, as we carry products that cater to their handheld gaming hobby.

This doesn’t make it easier, trying to figure out what is a “okayish” range - in this case.
