How can I change product settings to indicate a service?

Hi all,

My retail store has a lot of different products, and while the majority of our products are physical items, we do have a service that we offer to our customers that we have a few different POS buttons for. Is there a way to change the product settings to reflect that it is a service? I already unchecked the “charge sales tax on this item” button as we do not need to charge sales tax on services in accordance with our state tax policies, but I was wondering if there are any other ways to delineate these items on sales reports and metrics.

Thank you!

Set them as not a “this is a physical product”, set the literaly product type to “service” or other word, put them in a collection called services etc. Give them a unique or shared sku to use in report criteria.

Though keep in mind you may need a third party reporting tool to go beyond what’s available in the native generic reporting.

Paul,

Thank you for the quick response and good suggestions. I will give those options a try and see if that resolves my query. If not, I will post back on this thread with feedback.
