Please help. Im trying to deactivate my store but im signed in through my apple account so my password just automatically logs me in. When I try to deactivate the store it asks for a password and I would assume its my apple password, but that doesn’t work. Im not sure what to do and getting frustrated!
Hi there, @Cararay .
I can definitely understand feeling frustrated - keeping track of passwords can be tricky! Here is how to reset your Shopify password:
- From the Shopify login page(opens a new window), enter your store address and click Next.
- Enter your login email and click Next.
- Click Forgot password?
- Enter the email that you used to create your Shopify account.
- Click Reset password.
- You’re sent an email with a link to reset your password. In the email click Reset password.
- Enter your new password again in the Confirm password field.
- Click Reset password.
- Go back to your Shopify login page(opens a new window) and log in with your new password.
Once you have completed this and have access to your store again, you should be then able to close/cancel your account. The steps for this are:
-
From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Plan.
-
Click Deactivate store.
-
If applicable, review the options to switch to the Pause and build plan, or start a new store.
-
If you still want to deactivate, then click Deactivate store.
-
Select a reason for the deactivation, and then click Continue.
-
Enter your password, and then click Deactivate now.
You receive an email to confirm that your store’s deactivated. You can still re-open your store or view your past bills, and your store’s information is guaranteed for 2 years. You can also re-open your store and pause your plan. We will be sad to see you leave Shopify - can I ask what has made you decide to close?
