Is there a way of downloading periodical transaction fees charges. It seems a logical request but can’t find it anywhere.

You can indeed have a look at total transaction fees over a period of time from your store’s admin. My colleague @Maz walks through how to do this in her answer here, I will summarise her points below for you:
You should be able to view this by going to the Shopify admin > Finances > Billing > and then scroll all the way down to Statement of Charges at the bottom of that very page. Next, you will then click Transaction Fees and then choose your view, keep in mind with this view data is only available for 90 days.
A workaround is to go to Finances > Billing and then go to View all billing history.
You will have the option to add filter and decide the date range that you would like to see. This will generate a list of all your bills in that time range, and the transaction fees for each will be there! You can also choose to export the data via a CSV file too if you wish!
