Hello,
I tried to add my third party domain but I get this message. Does somebody know a fix?
Resolve these domain issues to ensure your Shopify site works for customers. Your domain’s A record doesn’t point to Shopify: Open your domain provider’s DNS settings for my domain and assign 23.227.38.72 to its A record. Your domain’s AAAA record doesn’t point to Shopify: Open your domain provider’s DNS settings for my domain and assign 2620:0127:f00f:c:: to its AAAA record.
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I’m happy to provide some assistance with your domain, to ensure it gets resolved.
When it comes to connecting a third-party domain to your shop, it’s important to ensure that the DNS records are correctly pointing towards Shopify. To learn more about this, you can check out our Connecting Third-Party Domains document as it touches on this further.
These DNS Records include:
Point the A record to the Shopify IP address 23.227.38.65.
If necessary, change the Host name to the @ symbol.
Delete any other A records on the domain if there are any present.
Point the CNAME record with the name www to shops.myshopify.com
I’d encourage you to review those records above and make this adjustments to the A record. If you’re having troubles with locating where to make this change, you can connect with your domain provider directly.
It’s important to note that it might take up to 48 hours for your domain to be verified after making any adjustments. After it’s verified, your domain is listed in the THIRD-PARTY DOMAINS section of the Domains page with the status Connected.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Hi Blair, thank you for this answer. The documentation now also speaks of adding an IPv6 record. We added this to our DNS records with an AAAA record, but in Shopify we get the following error message. The AAAA record mentioned here that we should is also different from the one mentioned in the documentation (2620:0127:f00f:5:: versus 2620:0127:f00f:1::). We added the correct record but it seems a zero goes missing somewhere.
