Hey, @AndreiB ! Welcome to Shopify Community!
If you have already been on a paid plan for at least 60 days, you have the option to pause your store. We have two pause plans: Pause and Build and Pause.
With the Pause and Build plan, you can pause orders from being placed while you work on your store. This option will keep your website accessible (unless you put up a password-protected page), but make your checkout inaccessible. It’s suitable for when you want to make significant changes to your store while you take a break from taking orders. The plan is $9 USD/month and you can keep your store in this plan as long as you wish. You can downgrade to the Pause and Build plan by following the steps on this page.
With the Pause plan, you can pause your store completely and step away from it. This plan will make your admin and website inaccessible so it’s suitable for when you wish to momentarily stop working on your entire store. The Pause plan is free and can run up to three months. If you don’t reopen your store after three months, your store will be automatically upgraded to the $9 USD/month Pause and Build plan. You can downgrade to the Pause plan by following the steps on this page.
If you’re still building your website, your best bet is to go onto the Pause and Build plan. This way you can continue with the setup at a lower subscription cost. When you’re ready to launch, you can simply upgrade your plan to move to any of the pricing plans on this page and begin taking orders.
Just to clarify, selecting a plan doesn’t end the trial and start the subscription charges as your billing cycle only starts when the trial ends. While the trial period is free and can be used to build the store, it’s mainly designed to be utilized to explore the platform and help you determine if Shopify is a perfect fit for your business. Nonetheless, we’re here to assist you with completing your setup so you can launch your store and start making sales. If you need a guide to finish configuring the settings and other elements in your store, you can refer to the setup checklist on this page.
If a specific component of the setup is delaying your launch, don’t hesitate to respond to this post or create a new post for a different topic and we’ll help you out!
