When i go to store status it’s only giving me two options, close or sell? I wanted to pause my store for a while whilst I go away for a few months for work. My store isn’t live yet, I haven’t even finished building it but i’m paying for something I cant even use at the moment as i’m so busy with work. Help on what I can do would be great!
Hi, @Missmann95 ,
Ava here from Shopify support!
To be eligible to pause your store using either Pause or Pause and Build, your store needs to be on a paid plan and at least 60 days past the free trial period. If your store doesn’t meet this criteria, then you can’t pause your store. Would it be an option for you to select a subscription plan for the first 2 months so you can keep working on it, then select either the Pause or Pause and Build plan? After 60 days have passed, you can decide which pause plan is best for you!
You can see a breakdown of all the subscription plans here. If you weren’t sure about which plan is best for your business, there is a layout here of the different features of each plan. For right now, it may be best for you to select the Lite plan, which is $9 USD every 30 days. This is the lowest tiered plan we offer, so it may suit your needs best here! While the Lite plan does not offer an online store as a feature with this plan, it does allow you to add a checkout to your Facebook store/Wordpress site, so customers can buy there directly. So while you’re waiting for the 60 days to pass, (whenever you have time in between your regular work to spend on your store) you can work on building a Facebook audience! This way when you are ready to launch your store in a few month’s time, you’ll already have a customer base built up.
I know this is not an ideal answer for you right now! This would be the best workaround for you in the meantime. Do let me know what you think!
Ava
