Hello! When trying to pause it requires withdrawal of 8 usd? How can I temporarily suspend the work of the store and applications for 3 months without paying for applications.
Hi, @creativeyour202 ,
Hank here from Shopify.
It sounds like you are being charged for the pause and build plan, which is $8USD per month. This pauses your store, but gives you access to the admin, allowing you to continue to work on your store while it is paused.
However, we do understand that people may just wish to step away from the store, and that is why we have the full pause plan which pauses the store for three months and removes access to the admin.
After the three months of the full pause plan is up, you will automatically be moved to the pause and build plan, and thus regaining access to your admin. Additionally, if your store is fully paused and you wish to close your store, you will need to upgrade to a paid plan to regain access to the admin also.
To help you make an informed decision, I will share this guide with you to help you decide which plan suits your needs. What I would advise doing also, is to uninstall any third-party paid apps as pausing your store will not remove the charges as these are third-party charges.
Let me know how you get on or if you have any additional questions!
All the best,
Hank
Ok. Thanks.
Greetings where can one find a pause plan option
Hi @Lerato ,
Shopify offers two different pause plans, which are Pause and Pause and Build. The Pause plan lets you pause your store for three months and pay no subscription fee, allowing you to step away from your store completely for this time. With the Pause and Build plan your store continues to run at a reduced cost of $9 USD per month, and you can access your Shopify admin and work on your store while on this plan, but your checkout is disabled. This means that customers can browse your store and view your products, but they can’t purchase them.
These plans can be chosen in the plans and permissions section of your admin, and are only eligible for merchants who are on paid plans and have been for at least 60 days past the free trial period. I hope this explains things but please let me know if you have further questions.
Hallo, I’m on the Pause and Build plan and would like to use the Pause plan because we are still quite far away from launching.
I followed the instruction video, but don’t see the Pause plan at all. There is only the option of Cancel subscription and close store. I’ve followed all the steps until the end, before having to key in the password to close the store.
Can anyone tell me what has happened to the Pause plan?
Hi @Fibi1 ,
Can you tell me when your trial ended and for how long you’ve been on a paid subscription with Shopify? The Pause plan is only eligible to merchants who have been on a paid Shopify plan for at least 60 days, as per our documentation:
If you have been on a paid plan for more than 60 days and still do not see the Pause options, please let me know.
Hallo Vitor
I’ve been on paid subscription for a few months now, at least 4 months, I
think.
Hi @Fibi1 ,
Okay, I see. Were you on the Pause plan prior to being on the Pause and Build plan? Are you also checking your subscription status is the Settings > Plan section of the Shopify admin?
@Victor_5 I plan to take a break from my business for a year. Is there a way for me to pause my plan without having to pay a monthly subscription? If not, is there a way for me to retain all the data, the website layout, etc.?
Hi @MahuaEthnico ,
You have a couple of options here. Shopify offers a pause and build plan priced at a reduced monthly fee of $9 a month, which allows you to retain access to your Shopify admin while not actively selling through your store. This would be the best option for you if you’re happy to pay the reduced fee and would like to retain access to your store even when you’re not selling.
Alternatively, you can deactivate your store and not pay anything while it is closed. Doing this means you will not have access to your Shopify admin until you log in and enter in your credit card details again to choose another plan to reactivate your store. While Shopify guarantees that your store’s information will be saved for 2 years, we still recommend exporting data (e.g. products, customers) and downloading your theme file so it is saved to your computer as a backup.
I hope this explains your options but please let me know if you have any further questions.
