How can I remove a refunded order from my unfulfilled list?

I’m so tired of seeing 2 of my orders counted as “unfulfilled,” even though they’ve been refunded and archived (and I tried to mark them as fulfilled but it won’t work). Please help!

Hi @Lichasaur ,

June here from Shopify. I understand you’re looking to clean up your Orders page view!

To clarify, not all orders are eligible to be deleted. Instead, an order must meet these these criteria. If any of the orders you’re describing, for example, originated as draft orders, or were paid via a manual payment gateway, it may possible to delete them after all. You’ll see below, using an unfulfilled order created from a draft as an example, I’ve refunded, then archived it. Once I’ve done that, the option to Delete order appears at the very bottom of my order page.

If you think that an order in your admin does meet this criteria and should be eligible to be deleted, yet you’re not seeing the option to do so, definitely let me know!

You also mentioned that you’re unable to fulfill these orders - can you tell me more about that? What are you seeing on your end when you try to select Mark as fulfilled from your order page?

By manual payment gateway, do you mean credit card?

And on my end when I click “mark as fulfilled” they both just remain
unfulfilled. Is it because I cancelled them? Is there a way to undo that?

Also, if I can’t figure it out, at the end of the year will they stop
showing up as unfulfilled or is it permanent for my account? :face_with_crossed_out_eyes:

Hi @Lichasaur ,

Great question. Manual payment methods allow customers to pay in person or from outside the online store checkout. So examples of this would be: cash-on-delivery, bank transfers, or cheque.

While it’s not currently possible to un-cancel an order, I can definitely appreciate how this, as well as greater eligibility to delete orders entirely would be desirable, for exactly the reasons you’ve mentioned. I’ll be sure to log that feedback with our developer team. In the meantime, that order data will remain in your admin, since it does not sound like these orders meet the criteria to be deleted I’m afraid.

Thanks for your question!
