I need help speeding this SSL pending process up for my domain. Could anyone help me with this?
Hey, @nitt2021 ! Welcome to Shopify Community!
Due to various factors that are taken into account when propagating a domain, we are unable to control the time it takes to provision your domain’s SSL certificate. While this is the case and domains take up to 48 hours to be propagated, there’s still a chance that your SSL will be issued in a few minutes to a few hours. To increase the likelihood of this happening, I suggest ensuring that your domain has been set up properly so there are no interruptions or delays to the SSL being provisioned.
A domain should have the following DNS records to be successfully connected to your Shopify store:
- A record:
- name:
@ - value:
23.227.38.65
- name:
- CNAME record:
- name:
www - value:
shops.myshopify.com
- name:
If you have a Shopify-managed domain, you can access your domain’s DNS settings in your Shopify admin to ensure the records are present. Feel free to follow the steps below to do so.
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains.
- Click the domain you want to configure.
- Click Domain settings > Edit DNS settings.
- You can do these if needed:
- Add a record: click Add custom record, and then select the record type that you want to add. Enter the required details for the record, and then click Confirm.
- Edit a record: click Actions > Edit for the record that you want to change. Edit the details for the record, and then click Confirm.
Alternatively, if your domain doesn’t have or need additional DNS records, you can reset the DNS settings for your domain. Doing this will delete all your DNS records except the A record and CNAME record, which are reset to point to Shopify. If you wish to reset your DNS settings you can refer to the following guide.
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains.
- Click the domain that you want to configure.
- Click Domain settings > Edit DNS settings.
- In the Advanced settings section, click Reset DNS settings.
- Click Confirm.
If your domain has the correct DNS records and the SSL certificate still hasn’t been provisioned after 48 hours, please create a support ticket by visiting https://bit.ly/3cJkx8V so we can investigate.
If you have a third-party domain, please contact your domain provider for assistance in ensuring you have the required DNS records.
After you fix your domain, the next step is to set up email hosting so your business has a custom email address. Customers are more likely to trust your business when you have this. Feel free to go over our help doc on email hosting to set this up. You can access it on this page.
