How do I create a custom order form for hair bows on my new platform?

I’ve recently migrated my store from Etsy, and the one thing I’m struggling to find is how to do Custom Orders.

I sell hair bows, and I used to have an option for users to message me directly to discuss a custom design, I would be able to discuss it with them and then send a private listing for them to purchase. Just meant that I could determine the cost and ensure I could make it before the customer ordered. How can I do this on the Shopify platform?

I found this article about how to contact a customer about an order on Shopify, I think it’s a good way to discuss a custom design or some other products requirement with your customers on your Shopify store
