How to create a link for downloading ebook in exchange for email information

Hi there, I need help!

I sell courses and give free digital products.

In my “featured slider” section of my website, I can’t figure out how let someone download my ebook in exchange for their email.

If you look at my website: https://alexandrabaxter.com/ I have free downloads at the bottom that I want to work when you click “download”.

I installed different digital downloads apps, but they try to take the person to checkout and fill out all of their billing information, which I don’t want. I just want the download button to ask for their email to receive the download.

Please help!

I think the most Shopify way without the need for an app would be, if you create a digital product and a discount code that makes it free. When someone „gives you their email“, subscribe them to your newsletter and send them a welcome mail, containing the link to the product with the discount applied. Alternatively you could upload the file to your Shopify files and send them the link to this file in the welcome mail.
