How to start selling product on website when it says sold out?

A store owner has physical inventory at home but their Shopify website displays products as “sold out,” preventing customers from purchasing.

The Issue:

  • Products show as unavailable despite having stock on hand
  • Uncertainty about whether SKU and barcode fields in the inventory section need to be completed

Solution Provided:

  • No need to enable “Track Quantity” feature in product settings
  • Instead, select the “Continue selling when out of stock” option within Shopify’s product configuration
  • This allows purchases to proceed regardless of tracked inventory levels

Hello,
I have a decent start on my website and I was wondering how I can actually make it so that people can buy from my website. I have the product at home, but on the website it says sold out. Do I need to fill out the ‘inventory’ section on the product? Where it says SKU and Barcode?

Information would help alot.

Hi @HallyuApparel

When Creating a Product

You don’t need to enable the “Track Quantity” feature. Instead, make sure to select the “Continue selling when out of stock” option in the Shopify product settings here.

Please let me know if it works. Thank you!
