I’m getting traffic but no sales

I’ve had my site running for the past couple of weeks. I’ve also run ads on facebook instagram and TikTok but the traffic just looks and leaves. Can someone look at my site to see what I’m doing wrong? It’s retrodawg.com.

thank you!

Hi @ACW

You’re getting traffic, which is awesome, but if folks are bouncing without buying, a few things might be tripping them up. Your product descriptions are short and sweet, but they could use more punch — tell a story or highlight why these tees are must-haves, like “Rock the 90s Vibe You Can’t Find Anywhere Else”

The site loads fast, which is great, but the checkout feels a bit buried, make that “Add to Cart” button pop with a brighter color or bigger size so it’s a no-brainer to click.

Your homepage should immediately convey your brand’s identity and value proposition. Consider adding a clear tagline or banner that highlights what RetroDawg offers and why it’s unique.

And have you used like Google Analytics to understand user flow and identify where drop-offs occur? This data can guide further optimizations.

Hi @ACW ,

I am from Mageplaza - Shopify solution expert.

I would be happy to review your website and provide feedback on the performance. Here are some suggestions to improve the performance of your website and increase sales:

You should add seasonal banners for current promotions to catch the attention of customers.

Additionally, featuring sections like “special offer” on the homepage, make discount labels and pricing information more noticeable, can drive attention to popular and discounted products, encouraging visitors to engage more with your site. Here is a reference:

Additionally, a high cart abandonment rate can be discouraging, especially after investing time and resources into driving traffic to your store. This suggests that many potential buyers are leaving without completing their purchases, leading to lower conversion rates.

To tackle this issue, consider re-engaging these shoppers by:

  • Sending Email Reminders: Notify customers about their abandoned items to encourage them to return.
  • Offering Incentives: Provide discounts or free shipping to motivate them to complete their purchase.

I hope these tips prove useful! Wishing you success!

Hi @ACW ,

I checked your store, and here are a few things you can improve:

:one: Enhance Product Image Quality – Some images on the homepage appear low resolution, which can create a perception of a low-quality store. High-quality visuals help build trust.

:two: Add a Favicon – This small detail makes your website look more polished and professional.

:three: Feature Products on the Homepage – While having reviews is great, not showcasing products upfront can be a dead end. Consider using Upsell & Cross-Sell product widgets (from our app) to display bestsellers or new arrivals where your visitors can easily see them.

:four: Add More Product Images – Ensure each product has multiple images from different angles to give customers a better sense of what they’re buying.

:five: Clean Up Product Descriptions – Some descriptions appear cluttered or unclear. A well-structured and easy-to-read product description improves customer confidence and conversion rates.

Hope this helps!

Hey @ACW

Your traffic is leaving without making purchases because visitors might not find enough trust signals, your site may load slowly, or the checkout process might be too complicated. Here’s what you can do:

1. Improve Site Experience- Ensure fast loading speeds and a mobile-friendly design.

  • Use high-quality product images and clear descriptions.

2. Build Trust- Show customer reviews and secure checkout badges.

  • Have a clear return/refund policy to reduce hesitation.

3. Optimize Checkout Process- Offer guest checkout and multiple payment options.

  • Avoid surprise shipping fees—be transparent upfront.

4. Boost Sales with Upsells

Many visitors leave without buying because they don’t feel incentivized. Use iCart Cart Drawer Cart Upsell to offer:

  • Product bundles to increase order value.
  • Timed discounts at checkout to encourage urgency.
  • Free shipping upsells to push customers to spend more.
  • Try these changes, and you should see higher conversions!
