I need your opinion on more store Please & Thanks

Topic summary

A Shopify store owner is seeking feedback on their redesigned dropshipping store selling a portable waist fan. Despite strong ad performance (8% CTR, $5 per checkout initiation, 9 checkouts in one day), they’re experiencing zero conversions.

Key Issues Identified:

  • Trust & authenticity concerns: Multiple users flagged misleading claims (“designed in New Zealand,” overly promotional language like “engineering precision” and “luxury lifestyle persona”). The store appears to misrepresent a generic dropshipped product as an original creation.

  • Product page problems:

    • Poor layout with excessive white space and unprofessional structure
    • Low-quality images (unboxing shots instead of lifestyle photos)
    • Grammar errors (e.g., “30 day” instead of “30-day”)
    • Key trust elements (reviews, guarantees) positioned too low
    • Questionable promotions (“Lifetime Protection,” perpetual sales) that resemble scam stores
  • Recommended improvements: Order product samples for authentic descriptions, create original product photography, improve mobile UX with sticky CTA buttons, add trust badges, fix grammar, restructure page layout to match standard Shopify conventions, and focus on honest presentation over marketing hype.

The discussion remains ongoing as the owner implements suggested changes.

HI @planb9387

First, this is interesting discussions, and hope you can learn from it. To me drop-shipping is hard, while it is easy to set products up. But it is often advertised “winning product” like the choice of products is only thing that matters, well it is not. It should be decent but more importantly that you built trust and credibility on your store. And I think honest presentation is better then marketing, big-sounding words. Check this great post from @tim_1

So for example in FAQ "Unlike generic fans, Maarten products combine engineering precision with a luxury lifestyle persona. The gFlow X100 is sleek, durable, and built to feel like premium gear. This small part is full of marketing BS.

Have order a samples, checked yourself how it works for a week or two? Give to family and friends to check and give honest opinion? That is where you get a base for description and feedback that you can put on site. For example “Solid build, just works” it is not and Apple product that is made with engineering precision and it is premium and not “feels like, but it is not premium”.

Also to be original, “only black hence original” you could make your own product images, without AI. For example check

And to give you some feedback on new changes: “Get 2 gifts” should be centered feel of like that. But there you should really think one more time, "Life Time Protection " that sounds like marketing again but are you really ready to sell product once and then every 2-3 years, “at best” give replacements to everyone, even when you stop selling those ?

To me that promotion is still biggest red flag, beside fake reviews, does it really ends today? Will you sell it tomorrow for full price? Buy 2 for big discount? Will you ship that? That part looks like the most scammers/fake stores.

And finally, this is a long post, but hope you learn in general what works with customers and what do not. You can choose different products, make new stores but try not to trick customers, most will see through it.

Good luck.
