My Store Wont Convert :( ALL HELP APPRECIATED

Topic summary

A store owner selling a portable waist fan (priced around $98) has generated only 4 sales in 2 months despite significant ad spend and is seeking help to improve conversions.

Main Issues Identified:

  • Pricing & Competition: Similar products available for $10–$20 on Amazon/AliExpress make the $98 price point difficult to justify
  • Trust Signals: Fake/unverified reviews, AI-generated customer images, Gmail contact email, and unverified Trustpilot claims damage credibility
  • Design Problems: Oversized product images, small fonts (12px), excessive white space, inconsistent battery specs (40h vs 16h; 10000mAh vs 6000mAh), and poor desktop layout
  • Content Issues: Generic “About” page, lack of authentic product videos, misleading discount claims (45% off), and stock photos that don’t match the actual product

Recommended Fixes:

  • Remove fake reviews and trust badges; add real customer testimonials
  • Include lifestyle images/videos showing the product in use
  • Fix technical inconsistencies (battery specs, product variants)
  • Improve mobile optimization and page load speed
  • Strengthen value proposition and CTAs
  • Focus on targeted ads rather than broad campaigns
  • Set up proper domain redirects and SEO basics

Current Status: Store owner has implemented some changes and reports improved performance, but traffic remains very low—likely an ad targeting issue rather than conversion problem.

Hey all so i have lunched my new store, the product solves a great problem but i just dont get sales, i did make a few last couple weeks (4) orders within 2 months of running and i have built the store well I’m unsure if its the website or my traffic coming in. I really hope to scale this up over time into a full on brand and i have drained way to much money in ads and im completely lost to the point where I’m searching for info and answers.

Store Link:Maarten™ gFlow X100 – Stay Cool. Keep Moving.

ALL HELP IS SERIOUSLY MUCH APPRECITAED FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!

I’d be surprised if you did get sales, considering there are thousands of like products for like 10 bucks… Customers are very cautious. A little more authenticity and originality will go a long way.

It can be tough at the start. Sometimes the issue isn’t the product but the targeting of your ads or the way visitors experience the site. You might want to check your store speed, product page clarity, and whether your ads are reaching the right audience. Even small tweaks in trust signals (reviews, clear shipping info, guarantees) can improve conversions. Don’t lose hope—scaling usually takes testing and patience.

Hi, I did check your website and I just say you have such an attracting and mobile friendly website, you can definitely scale up your sales with strategy this days, what I always help people with is building trust, I noticed you website footer still contain “power by Shopify" which shouldn’t be there and also first thing to do about customer building is offering a discount, have you done any already to increase sales?

Hi @planb9387

Like @Maximus3 pointed out there are similar much cheaper products, I also find a few with $20 on aliexpres but then $98 same on eBay. People try to make money. I get it. And those cheep ones solve a great problem too, but it is OK you can expect to have truly unique product in these days. But you should be aware that is will not get easy and fast.

Now second thing is your site design and trust signals it can send. Thankfully it is not another Dawn theme but there are several issue that I see. Layout is a bit wrong. Check screenshot below (made in Firefox, Chrome is slightly better).

  • Main issue is that image is too dominant and other content looks really small
  • you see first that right side is cut off (Mozilla only)
  • Font size of 12px is way to small to be read by for most of the customers.
  • “Introductory Promotion - limited time only” should stick out more, grab attention but it does not as it is small
  • icon text below again 12px too small
  • Price of 45% off is so misleading, we already saw price range of other products, but even without that when I see that big discount, I wander, does this product have value if it is discounted that much. Other explanation, marketing trick, and you can set $2000 old price, customers will see true that
  • 1200 reviews ? word wide? from suppler ? And reviews are hidden mostly but to me look fake.
  • Add to cart button, I searched for it for a while but could not find it until I saw icon next to “Experience Instant Cool”. I did click it but did not experienced instant cool  Think that should be classic “Add to cart” as it shows for a split second, and to go straight to checkout. Why additional step, for quantity? Then add it to product page, you just add one more step to customers.
  • Then people images, to me that look like AI generated, and looking closely keeping “ChatGPT_Image” in image name confirms it. and that does not help
  • Actually your product images look more like renders, which is OK, but at least show it from all angles, with light on, maybe add a video
  • And I searched for gFlow X100 and found some videos on your official Instagram page that do not show product you sell, but more look like products that @Maximus3 found
  • Your about page does not look unique at all, with words like"Redefining, Luxury,Misson" plus " luxury design. Inspired by the engineering standards of Apple and Dyson," a bit too much for me.
  • On contact us you have a Gmail email

With all that I can see that some customers have issues with design and trust, so try to improve that first and then spend money on adds.

Still, good luck and hope sales come.

Hi @planb9387 ,
Pause scaling ads for now — fix your product page first.

Add a lifestyle hero image/video that shows the product being used.

Make your value proposition clear above the fold (what it does + why it’s better).

Add social proof/trust signals (reviews, testimonials, guarantee, shipping info).

Test on mobile first — sticky Add to Cart, fast load, clean layout.

Once your store converts at 2%+, then restart ads and focus on retargeting + organic video content to warm up audiences.

Best

Hi there,

So I visited your website, and here are a few suggestions.

  1. Your home page appears to have a white space on the left-hand side. Not sure if this was intetional but it looks kind of odd.
  2. The home page in itself is lacking a lot of important elements. When I click on “shop,” it redirects me to the home page when it should take me to the product page. You should also add more features, USPs, pain points resolved etc, in the home page. Like eg - Add benefits: e.g. “Stay cool even in 30°C heat”, “On the go with power bank” — what problems does it solve for them.
  3. Use more action-driven CTAs: “Shop gFlow X100”, “Buy Now”, “See Offer” etc. Also, make sure CTA stands out (color contrast, placement). Your CTA on the home page just says “Discover”.
  4. The header image appears to be cut off on the home page. Again, not sure if this is intentional.
  5. You got 4 sales. Urge those users to leave reviews. I don’t see the space for reviews on the product page.
  6. Consider decreasing the sizing of the images on the product page.

Outside of the website:

  1. You have to check your SEO basics. What keywords are you targeting? Are those keywords mentioned on the website or product pages?
  2. Next, see where your site is ranking for the keywords you are targeting. Connect your domain to the search console and get more insights. See which queries are driving traffic. If you are seeing irrelvant queries, then it means you need to work on optimizing your site for the keywords you are targeting. Look up SEO optimization.
  3. There’s also technical SEO like site speed, domain ranking, etc. Research all of this and see how you are doing.

Lastly, once you have looked into all of this. I recommend running Google shopping ads. As one user pointed out that your product is being sold for much cheaper on Amazon you have to use paid ads. Google shopping ads has free listings too.

Hope this helps.

Hi @planb9387 your product is pretty unique and great for starters so I suggest that a major thing to do would be to add a short high quality video in your product gallery probably displaying the product in action and maybe a short tutorial to make potential customers understand how to utilize it to the fullest. This would most likely make them more immersed in the product itself

Hi @planb9387

A good amount of work done, in general looks better. Layout is good, more sections.
More images, more information in accordion, sticky add to cart, all good. Still font looks slightly small in some areas but OK. But I still have issues with some of your tactics, it can not be all marketing:

  • THE ORIGINAL, really, can you back up this claim ?
  • Excellent Trust Pilot reviews, almost 5 starts, but can you give a link to those reviews? No? https://www.trustpilot.com/review/maarten.store have none. Maybe I did not find right link. So you can see how that looks fake as well as all reviews you got. “Verified” by who?
  • In second icon block and Details and Size you have 40h of battery run time and 10000mAh, but then in two section below, it is “16+ hours runtime • 6000mAh power”
  • "Proven to perform in heat, product image, big numbers and look good, but is it that real? “Based on independent verified customer feedback, 2025.” Again, can we see that independent feedback somewhere?
  • From your images I think there is just one clip, right? But then how that clip with workers back have visible clip? Also that “model” and one on image with two hands is different, does not have 4 screws. And that worker video, even if product is visible for a split second, it is noticeable it is grey one, and you do have just black?

Do check your domain settings, URL without www does not get redirected.

And maybe I sound harsh, or nitpicking, but you seems to put honest work in this store and product, so my feedback is just something customers could notice as well and that could make lose trust in your store. Maybe most will not care about reviews, or images, but some will. Some tactics you used, are used by fake, scam stores, and your does not look like one, and I hope it is not. So try to improve.

Again, good luck, and hope sales will come.

Nice work getting your store rebuilt that’s always a big step forward. A few things I’d recommend looking at as you keep refining:

  1. First impressions – Make sure your homepage headline and images immediately show what you sell and why it’s unique.

  2. Navigation – Keep it simple and clear so shoppers can find products quickly.

  3. Product pages – Strong images, detailed descriptions, and clear calls to action can really help conversions. Adding reviews or social proof goes a long way, too.

  4. Mobile view – Most traffic comes from mobile, so it’s worth double-checking that everything looks clean and loads fast there.

Every store is a little different, so the best feedback usually comes from looking directly at the site. If you’d like, I can take a closer look and share some tailored suggestions to help with design and conversion improvements.
