Hi, @eslam_mirage

To remove your credit card from Shopify, you will need to contact Shopify support. They will be able to assist you in removing your credit card from your account. Here are the steps you can take to contact Shopify support:

  1. Log in to your Shopify account.
  2. Click on the “Help” icon at the bottom right corner of your dashboard.
  3. Select “Contact support”.
  4. Choose the topic that best fits your issue.
  5. Select “Email” as your contact method.
  6. Fill out the form with your information and request to have your credit card removed from your account.
  7. Submit the form.

A member of the Shopify support team should respond to your request within 24-48 hours. Alternatively, you can also call Shopify support directly to request assistance with removing your credit card.

Hi @eslam_mirage

Welcome to the Shopify Community.

I understand that you would like to remove your credit card information from your store, as you do not wish to continue using it. I’d be happy to help clarify this situation for you.

If you have selected a plan for your store, and added a payment method to your billing information, then you will not be able to remove the payment information yourself via your Shopify admin. You would either need to replace the payment method with a new one such as an updated credit card, or if you wanted to completely remove the billing payment method from your store, you would need to contact our support team for assistance.

However, if you simply wish to stop receiving subscription charges on your store as you are not using the store anymore, then a better solution would be to close the store. This will prevent you from being charged in the future for any Shopify billing charges. The steps and considerations for closing a Shopify store are outlined on this page here, and you can do this yourself without having to contact our support team.

Another option you could take, is to pause the store and continue to work on it, at a reduced monthly cost. This usually costs approximately $14USD or less each month, and you retain access to your Shopify admin and storefront. However, your checkout will be disabled so customers cannot place orders on your store while it is paused.

You mentioned that you are not using the store anymore. Was there anything about using Shopify that you found challenging, or overly difficult to set up? We are always here to provide support and help you get set up, so feel free to ask any questions you may have right here, and either myself or others in the Community will try our best to provide you with resources and explain how to do things. If you do close the store, your store information will be kept intact for up to 2 years, and you can log back in any time until then and continue where you left off.
