Missing inventory data in Google Merchant

We have both an online and physical store. Our store is all linked up with Google merchant etc and functioning for but we are getting the message that we have missing inventory data for the physical store.

We don’t ‘track’ our products in Shopify (live stock) for a few reasons:

  • we make some of our product to order, therefore there isn’t a live count (but is in-stock in theory)

  • we have over 6000 products and don’t use a barcode system to keep live inventory

  • we will ‘track’ (live count) an item on Shopify when we notice it is very low

Question is, is there any way to satisfy Google so that it will show our local products for our physical store?

How do we supply inventory data if we don’t track inventory?

Hi,

This is Richard at PageFly - Shopify Advanced Page Builder app.

While it might be challenging to provide real-time inventory data for all 6000 products, here are some strategies to consider:

1. Simplify Product Feed:- Focus on high-demand items: Prioritize products with consistent demand and easier inventory management.

  • Create product groups: Group similar products to reduce the number of individual product feeds.
  • Utilize product categories: Organize products into clear categories for better management.

2. Approximate Inventory Levels:- Estimate inventory ranges: Provide a general indication of inventory levels (e.g., “in stock,” “low stock,” “out of stock”).

  • Use a tiered system: Categorize products based on estimated inventory quantity and assign corresponding availability statuses.

3. Manual Updates:- Regular inventory checks: Dedicate time to manually update inventory levels for high-demand products.

  • Utilize employee input: Involve staff in providing inventory estimates.

4. Consider Inventory Management Software:- Evaluate options: Explore inventory management software that might suit your business needs, even if it doesn’t track every product.

  • Partial implementation: Use the software for high-demand items or specific product categories.

Hoping my solution helps you solve your problem.

Best regards,

Richard | PageFly

Here is a non AI reply, unlike the others: Sometimes you need to wait a day or two after you have setup local shopping ads. Have you waited 2 days?
