My store is deactivated why are you still trying to charge me?

My store was deactivate back in May and now I am getting notifications every week about shopify trying to debit money. I do not see any options to stop this in my account or to actually speak with someone who is live. Please stop!

If you’re receiving notifications that you’re still being billed, this suggests that your store may not have been closed correctly, and your subscription is still active. If you’re able to login to your store, you will want to make sure that you follow the steps to close your account. There are as follows:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Plan.

  2. Click Deactivate store.

  3. If applicable, review the options to switch to the Pause and build plan, or start a new store.

  4. If you still want to deactivate, then click Deactivate store.

  5. Select a reason for the deactivation, and then click Continue.

  6. Enter your password, and then click Deactivate now.
