Need Advice: Zero Sales After 3 Months - What Am I Doing Wrong?

Hi everyone,

I launched my Shopify store back in February 2024, and it’s been nearly three months now without a single sale. Despite running Instagram and Facebook advertisements, my products are competitively priced yet I’m struggling to generate any sales. I’m at a loss and can’t seem to pinpoint what I’m doing wrong. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated! What steps should I take to turn things around and start seeing some success?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi,

In order to help, a link to your website would be of great help. IG and FB ads aside, I’d need to get some metrics as well. What kind of campaigns have you set, impressions, CTR, creatives, etc… Is it dropshipping, custom products, self-made, digital, etc…

Hi,

Thank you for your response. The link to my website is https://gloswift.com/ .

Regarding the Instagram (IG) and Facebook (FB) ads, here are the specific details I can provide:

Campaign Type: I have run an awareness campaign on Instagram (IG) and Facebook (FB) by boosting my post with a shop button and a link to the product. This campaign was aimed at increasing visibility and engagement among potential customers.

Impressions and Clicks: The boosted post has received a good number of impressions, but the click-through rate (CTR) is lower than expected.

Ad Creatives: I’m using a mix of product images and videos showcasing the features and benefits of my offerings. The creatives are designed to capture attention and encourage users to explore and make a purchase.

Product Type: I am running both dropshipping products and physical products that I have on hand.

Additionally, I have attached reports from Google Analytics to provide insights into user behavior and website traffic patterns.

Please let me know if there’s any other specific information you need to assist me better.

Thank you for that information, it helps. At first glance, your website seems to be all over the place, you have a multitude of products that do not correlate. I’d suggest starting with a niche that you are passionate about and focusing on just that.

The logo, website, and structure are questionable, I would change the logo, fix the website design a bit to be more 2024, and make it unique. This is important as you need to establish confidence for potential customers.

Looking at your data, the only thing that matters for now is interest which can be determined by average session time. 24 Seconds is really low. We want to increase that. Try to make a landing page (product page) that is compelling and provides images and information needed in order to purchase the product. Checkout Cosy house:

THey are selling a pretty crappy microfiber product, however, they build confidence and a story, some features, then why choose them over others, FAQ’s and finally, some pictures of people holding the product smiling. The is a great formula for success.

Based on what you said in your ads, you have to create Advantage Plus campaigns within Facebook and focus on Sales. Awareness campaigns will never result in sales because that’s not the point of them. Awareness campaigns are for larger companies that have reached a ceiling of sales from regular ads and want to create… awareness. In other words, a billboard like Peloton or L’oreal.

Don’t bother with videos at first, focus on 1:1 ratio still images that display the product and showcase features of the product, then write compelling text, create variations of that text, and see which one works best.

I’ve had the same problem. I’ve had clicks but no sales. I don’t know what I am doing wrong or if people are just not buying for some reason. I saw your site and there are a lot of different categories but it looks good. I think it’s true it might look a little too mismatched. But your products are good. My site is LavenderBayDesigns.com if anyone could offer any insight for me.

Same answer I gave above, your website has no collections, homepage doesn’t present the brand. People don’t just buy products from websites that look like that. Checkout https://shirtup.com/

Hi @usman06 ,

It’s Kate here from the PageFly team, the Shopify Page Builder app. I noticed that you have put a lot of effort into your store. You built it with a theme and it looks quite clear. However, it may not be convincing enough to prompt purchases.

I think there are two main issues here that need to be addressed:

  • Optimize the Click-Through Rates (CTR)
  • Optimize the Conversion Rates (CR)

As a CRO specialist, I have some suggestions that could help further optimize your store.

Optimize the Click-Through Rates (CTR):

To do this, you need to optimize your ad captions, CTAs, and media. I haven’t seen your ads, so here is a checklist of what you need to consider seriously when launching one:

  • Is the link to your store included in the first three sentences of your ad caption?
  • Is the CTA short and straightforward enough?
  • Does the media have good resolution and is it captivating enough for viewers to click? If you were a viewer, would you click? What do you think, as a viewer, could be done better to convince you to click?

I understand that this may feel a bit strange and can be very challenging at first, but hard work pays off, and I believe that you can optimize your ads for better CTR.

Now, let’s talk about optimizing your store where your ads land to improve the conversion rates.

Optimize the Conversion Rates (CR):

HOMEPAGE

1. Follow the theme demo store.

I noticed that you’re using the District Theme. If you’re not specialized in web design, I’d like to suggest following the theme’s demo store. It saves time and still ensures that your store looks good, as it can convey pretty much everything you need to create a standout online store.

Then, make some tweaks to style it uniquely and suit your intentions.

2. Add a hero banner to spotlight your leading product.

Pick potential product(s) and display them in your front page + clear title + CTAs.

3. Organize your products.

If you have many products across different categories, consider adopting the example organization from the District theme. It’s well-organized, clean, and makes it easy for visitors to scan your products and get an overview of what you’re offering.

PRODUCT PAGE

1. Optimize your product page.

Change the layout and re-organize your product images. If you have too much images to show, consider using the gallery feature of theme to display them.

2. Import more reviews (with images).

Which platform are you using for dropshipping? It appears that you are utilizing the Judge.Me app for product reviews. I recommend importing additional products from the original source that you are dropshipping from.

I hope these tips will enhance your store and boost conversion rates. I wish you the best in your endeavors. Keep up the great work!

Cheers,
