no sales

Topic summary

A Shopify store owner selling handcrafted stationery and paper goods is struggling with zero sales despite having traffic from ads, redesigning the site multiple times, and creating quality product descriptions and images.

Key Issues Identified:

  • Lack of trust signals: No customer reviews, testimonials, or trust badges visible on product pages
  • Weak contact information: Only email provided; missing business address, phone number, or live chat
  • Design problems: Red text on product pages is hard to read, badges appear too small on desktop, color choices for CTAs could be improved
  • SEO issues: Meta titles and descriptions are too long to display properly in search results
  • Limited social proof: No user-generated content or customer photos showcasing products in use

Recommended Solutions:

  • Implement retargeting campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, and Google to re-engage visitors who didn’t purchase
  • Add product storytelling to create emotional connections with buyers
  • Feature bestsellers and themed collections prominently on homepage
  • Use cart upsell apps to increase average order value with complementary products
  • Optimize mobile experience and page load speed
  • Develop consistent blog content for SEO and audience engagement
  • Submit updated sitemap to Google after making changes

If your store on Shopify, Scribbles and Paper, is not making enough sales, it could be because of a few things.

You can increase customer trust by using reviews and badges, optimize the product pages by ensuring clear CTA’s and brief descriptions while making sure that the ads are better targeted towards those who love stationary.

Study Shopify analytics data to monitor visitor activity and experiment with minor modifications to increase sales.

Thank you! I will try the badges and reviews… thank you so much for responding.

Hi, I’m Wayne from Akohub. We have been working with many brands to run online stores. After viewing your website, I believe our expertise could add value to your business.

You have a decent foundation, fluent navigation and I like the store designs. Information about the products are comprehensive and product images are clear. I think you can focus more on marketing strategies to optimize your conversion rate. While you’re getting visitors through ads, many of these audiences need more touchpoints before they feel comfortable making a purchase. It’s normal for new visitors to browse and leave without buying on their first visit. This is where retargeting ads can make a big difference. By running retargeting campaigns across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Google, you can remind those visitors about your products as they continue browsing the web or social media. Retargeting is proven to be cost-effective and can significantly boost your conversion rate by bringing interested shoppers back to your store and nudging them to complete their purchase. Combining retargeting across multiple channels increases the chances that your brand stays top-of-mind, making it more likely for visitors to return and buy.

To streamline the work of implementing retargeting campaigns, I recommend trying our Ako Marketing App. It allows merchants to set up retargeting campaigns across different platforms, making it simple to reach your visitors wherever they spend time online. Several merchants which have been working with us have seen significant conversion rate improvements after launching retargeting campaigns for several months. I believe it can be a game changer for you too.

Best wishes! If you have any more questions or need a free professional consultation, feel free to let us know! Don’t forget to like and mark it as a solution if you find this helpful.

Hey @scribbles777

I checked out your store and see you have some really unique, hand-crafted stationery and gifts — products with personality that deserve to shine.

Here are some tailored tips to turn visitors into buyers:

1. Tell the Story

Your products have a lot of charm, but your product pages could lean more into why someone would want them. Share stories about the inspiration behind each item or how it can add a personal touch to daily life. This emotional connection often nudges customers from browsing to buying.

2. Highlight Bestsellers or Collections

On your homepage and product pages, feature bestsellers or themed collections like “Gifts for Creatives” or “Handmade Desk Essentials.” This guides customers navigate and find something that fits their needs faster.

3. Add Customer Reviews or Social Proof

If you don’t have reviews yet, try encouraging early buyers to leave feedback. Showcasing real opinions builds trust and makes new visitors more comfortable taking the leap.

4. Simplify the Cart & Boost AOV

Here’s where apps like iCart Cart Drawer Cart Upsell can supports the store a lot. Since your products complement each other well (think notebooks, pens, and cards), iCart can offer smart upsells right in the cart — suggesting matching or related items before checkout. This not only increases average order value but also reminds customers of other cool things they might love.

Plus, the smooth cart drawer experience iCart provides keeps the process quick and distraction-free, so customers don’t abandon at the last step.

5. Mobile & Speed Check

Your site looks good on desktop but can feel a bit slow or cluttered on mobile. Optimizing images and streamlining the layout for phones will keep visitors engaged longer and reduce bounce rates.

Hi @scribbles777

Yes, you are 100000th person, but I want to ask first, have you searched what advice the other 99999 persons received. Some you may find usefull.

But in general, for me, that is a great looking site, good theme, great images. But that red text on the product page is not a good choice. It hurts my eyes :slightly_smiling_face: Black will be fine with red only for a price. Also, that blue for add to cart is not that great. So your most important page needs some work. It is also missing some reviews, some customer reassurance, like maybe in a grid logo.

Also for me, you do not give enough contact information. Just an email, but to have some address, business info, registration, or phone number. Even a customer chat would help. Now I do not have enough trust to give you my credit card information.

And trust is something you need to build. I do not think that your about us looks a bit generated, so not connecting with you.

Good luck.

Hello @scribbles777

I notice some elements that can be optimized in a better way after checking your store pages, please kindly have a look below:

  1. You can combine the two annoucements together on the top annoucement bar on the website, which is helpful to make your store look cleaner, as the structure on this aspect is a bit in chaos when I firstly access your store homepage.

  1. The badges on product page look too small on desktop port. You can enlarge the size of badges and make them display in center separately, which will look better after optimization.

  1. Please pay more attention to the length of meta title and meta description you made before. They are too long to display completely! For meta title, it is recommended to shorten the length within 50-70 characters and for meta description, better keep it within 150 characters.

After updating your store contents properly, do not forget to let Google know your changes by submitting a sitemap accordingly, a kind reminder here and may your store get the first sale in the coming future!

Hi @scribbles777

It’s Erlan from Growave

If your visitors aren’t buying, here’s what might be holding them back:

  1. Lack of trust & social proof: Your site looks nice & clean, but visitors don’t yet trust it enough to buy, especially if they’ve never heard of your brand. Without social proof, convincing shoppers to “buy” becomes much harder.
  • There’s no customer feedback visible on your product pages.
  • No real customer photos or testimonials
  • No reassuring methods at checkout like the return guarantees

Why is it important?

People trust recommendations from others they know, that’s a fact. Studies show that product reviews can boost conversions by up to 20%. Since humans are visual by nature, if potential buyers don’t see others enjoying your products, they may hesitate or leave without purchasing.

What you need to do:

  • Add product reviews and star ratings using an app like Growave, which also supports wishlists, and loyalty rewards.
  • Include testimonials from satisfied customers or even from friends, colleagues, and family members if you’re just starting out.
  • Showcase real-life customer photos or UGC (user-generated content). Embed Instagram posts or include a gallery on your product pages.
  • Add trust messaging during checkout: “30-Day Return Guarantee,” “Hassle-Free Exchanges,” or “Secure Checkout.” (Shopify already includes SSL certificates, just make sure the secure badge is visible.)

2. Weak SEO strategy: A well-designed store doesn’t mean much if no one can find it. If your products aren’t ranking in search results, you’re likely leaning too hard on paid ads, which can be expensive and unsustainable.

  • Product titles and descriptions aren’t aligned with common search terms

  • Your blog is underused (e.g., only 3 blog posts), limiting organic reach

Why is it important?

When done right, SEO can be a game changer. It brings in free, high-quality traffic, people who’re already looking for what you sell. It’s cost-effective, long-lasting and scalable.

What you need to do:

  • If you’ve got some budget to work with, it’s worth investing in a solid SEO tool like Ahrefs. It makes keyword research, competitor analysis, backlink tracking, and overall performance monitoring much easier.
  • Write helpful, search-optimized product descriptions that address common customer questions. Start by focusing on keywords with low difficulty, they’re are easier to rank for.
  • Use relevant, SEO-friendly keywords throughout your website but don’t overdo it. Keyword stuffing can hurt your rankings instead of helping them.
  • Work on your blog - right now, you only have three posts. Try to be consistent by publishing new content every week. A blog is a great opportunity to introduce your products and services, share news related to your niche, and build trust with your audience. It also signals to Google that your site is active and regularly updated, which can improve your search rankings.

Good luck!

My pleasure to meet you here. Really hope my feedback can gain more effort on the store. Cheers!

hey please could someone look at my page as im struggling for any sales wwwGiftique.org.uk

Hi! It’s a very familiar situation — you seem to have done everything: the website, photos, descriptions, even traffic is there, but there are no purchases. This often happens, especially if the niche is competitive. Sometimes the problem is not in the product itself, but in what others are doing around it — in terms of prices, promotions, and pitch.
Competitive analysis helped me a lot at such a moment. I use the IceStoreLab Telegram bot. It helps sellers increase revenue by analyzing competitors: expanding the product range based on market signals, responding promptly to promotions, and using competent AI recommendations.
Tell me, is it interesting to get acquainted in more detail?
