Payouts Paused Question

Hi, just as the title says, I am curious about other people’s experiences, and the timeline? Mine seems to be moving forward fine, woke up on Tuesday to this message

Payouts are paused. Please contact support for help resuming payouts.

Reached out to support who escalated it. Next day (yesterday), I got an email asking for some documents, License, Business Verification, Proof of location, and another form of ID, all of which I have submitted.

Hi @seif619

It looks like Shopify paused your payouts because they need to verify your account this is standard for security and compliance. You’ve done the right thing by submitting all the requested documents (license, business verification, proof of location, ID).

Typically, Shopify takes a few days up to a week to review everything. In the meantime:

  1. Make sure your documents are clear and match your Shopify account.

  2. Keep an eye on your email in case Shopify requests anything additional.

  3. Avoid creating new payout requests or new stores, as that can delay verification.

  4. If you haven’t heard back in a few days, follow up with Shopify Support to check on the status.

Once Shopify finishes the review, your payouts should resume automatically.

Hope that helps!

It sounds like your case is already progressing well — getting the document request within a day is usually a good sign.

From what I’ve seen, once all documents are submitted and clear, the review can take anywhere from a few business days to two weeks, depending on workload and complexity.

Keep your support ticket active by replying every couple of days with a short status check (e.g., confirming you’re ready to provide anything else they need). This can help prevent your case from going idle in the queue.
