I recently went in and made all of my large items not a physical item. Therefore not offering shipping. My business is in Iowa and somebody in Florida bought a lamp. I’m offering to split the shipping cost but how can I get it calculated on Shopify to get my discount. I have offered a refund but have not heard from my buyer and what options she wants to take.

Hey, @RemixedRetro .
Thank you for sharing your experience in the Community forum. I completely understand the importance of finding a solution here.
Just to ensure that I’m on the same page, I understand that your customer purchased a product that requires shipping. However, no shipping charge was added to the original order. So, you’re hoping to create a shipping label as well as charge the customer for their additional shipping fee. Is that right?
If so, you can use the **draft order **feature. This allows you to run payments through the backend and send invoices to your customers. You can create a draft order on behalf of your customer and then send them an invoice for the order. By default, the invoice contains a link to a checkout, where your customer can pay for their order (or in this case only the shipping fee). To set up a draft order, follow these steps here. Here are some examples of the process for reference:
Once you’ve completed these steps, you can send your customer an invoice to pay for the remaining shipping charge directly from the draft order. After you collect payment for the draft order, it will be converted to your regular order list and you can buy a shipping label as you would normally.
If this helps or if you are hoping to achieve something different, let me know. In the meantime, I’d love to hear more about your business. Is there a reason you decided to stop charging for shipping on your larger items?
