Shopify dashboard showing wrong data

Hi,

I’m having issues with my Shopify dashboard, which isn’t tracking conversions correctly. For example, today I received three sales, but the dashboard shows only one sale registered. I’ve contacted Shopify, but they say they can’t find any issues on their end. This leads to an incorrect conversion rate and general problems with reporting, including pixel tracking errors. Has anyone experienced similar issues or know how to resolve this?

It has been like this for months, not just today.

Also having this issue. Thought it was on my end. Still going crazy trying to figure out why my conversions in the live view aren’t populating at all from today’s metrics.

Hi Are you still having the same issue?

Got some few simple steps for you to check out and see if this will help

  1. Look at Installed Apps: Sometimes apps you add might mess with tracking. Try turning off recent apps to see if that helps. (sometimes same app functionality may double the information)
  2. Check Tracking Tools:
  • Google Analytics: Make sure it’s set up correctly and the tracking code is added to your store.
  • Facebook Pixel: Ensure the Facebook Pixel code is on all important pages, like the checkout page. You can use a browser extension to check if it’s working. You may also try our app we do help with any pixel code error and provides the best tracking across Shopify store. https://apps.shopify.com/partners/galacticapps
  1. Verify Payment Setup: Check that your payment systems (like credit card processors) are working properly and sending the right info to Shopify.

Let me know if the top 3 works kindly like and hit solved  Have a Great Day!

One issue I see with some customers currently is missing consent information / information being send to the Shopify consent API. I believe Shopify Analytics only works correctly if analytics consent has been granted.

You can check the different consent states on your websites when opening the browser console and typing in

window.Shopify.customerPrivacy.currentVisitorConsent()

if all values of the consent object are empty, this might be the issue.

Seeing the same thing on a store in the UK… thought I was going insane.

Shopify Analytics routinely tells us our conversion rate is 0.2% when, in reality, it’s more like 4-6% on any given day.

Scratching my head, trying to figure this out.

Hi there, @Tom62 .

If you’d like our team to take a more detailed look into your Analytics section, please head over to the Shopify Help Center to create a support request.

Thank you!

We also have the same problem. Shopify just said sorry and told us to report it so they can follow up one day.

Hello, @Laksen1337; we have replied to this thread which covers your case.

Hi Tom. Did you ever get to the bottom of this? My store is exactly the same. For example I made 189 sales, but the analytics show only 4 completed checkouts. I have been told my Shopify that it’s because in the EU. I’m not, I’m UK. I accept some discrepancies but it’s wildly inaccurate and Shopify just keep fobbing me off.

I’d love to hear it you got a resolution

Hi @Tom62 , hi everyone,

We’ve been closely monitoring similar issues over the past few days through our support channels, and I wanted to share some findings that shed light on what’s going on.

In several client stores we reviewed, we’ve observed inconsistent behavior with Shopify’s geolocation detection, specifically when using the window.Shopify.customerPrivacy.getRegion() method. On the first page load, the method often returns the correct country. However, after a few seconds or upon refreshing the page, the same method sometimes returns an incorrect country (often outside of the EU/UK region entirely).

This inconsistency can affect whether or not a cookie banner is shown, especially for stores using regional rules for consent. If Shopify’s geolocation is off, it could explain why certain tracking scripts (like pixels) don’t fire correctly due to consent not being properly requested or granted. Ultimately, this can lead to missing analytics data, underreported conversions, and inaccurate dashboard metrics.

While Shopify support hasn’t yet acknowledged a platform-wide issue, this geolocation instability could be part of the root cause affecting both conversion tracking and customer privacy logic.

Hope this helps bring more clarity to the discussion. Curious if others here are seeing similar geolocation mismatches?

Best,

Nikos
