i have set up klarna via shopify payments. this has worked well for over a year now. since 21.09.2022, it no longer works at our store, as if out of nowhere - our customers get the following error message when they want to use klarna payment methods:
“There was an issue processing your payment. Try again or use a different payment method.”
Does anyone have similar problems or has anyone already been able to solve this?
Or is it better to integrate Klarna as an external payment method again? (Which also has some disadvantages with our store in several languages and several currencies).
Thank you for getting in touch and I am sorry to hear that you’re having this issue.
Can you tell me which country you and your store are based in please? Have you been able to process any payments through Klarna since the 21st, or is it seeming to fail every time? How often is this issue occurring?
Are you seeing the same error message that @kollin shared in their post? Do you have Klarna enabled via Shopify Payments, and if so, in which country are you based?
Right, I see. If this is what Klarna’s support team are telling you that I believe this is not something you’d be able to work around without switching your store’s default currency back to CAD. Had a significant portion of your sales been processed with Klarna or do you offer other payment methods that are more popular?
What I found out is that the payout currency must be in your locks country’s currency, in your case UK. Once you do that it should work just fine. You should be able to retain the storefront in USD by payouts in pounds.
