Shopify won’t let me deactivate my store

I haven’t used Shopify in a while but it’s trying to take money out of my currently empty but not for too long bank account. I’m trying to deactivate my store because I don’t want it to take money out but it won’t deactivate. I’ve put in the correct password as it never said incorrect password but it still doesn’t deactivate. I don’t want my money stolen so how can I get rid of this?

I understand this is frustrating for you.

When you say it does not deactivate with the correct password, are you referring to the step where you have already selected to close your store?

If so, could you let me know what browser and device you’re using to do this?

Sometimes, similar issues can be resolved by local troubleshooting, so I suggest the following steps:

  • Clear your cache and cookies on the Google Chrome browser, then try to take the steps to deactivate again.
  • Attempt to do the same on an alternative device i.e. if you’re using mobile, try this on desktop.
  • Reset your internet connection and try again. Sometimes, network errors can lead to similar issues.
