I have my domain hosted through sav.com. My domain is attached to shopify but it still says SSL Pending. I have added two screenshots below. I’m pretty sure its been longer than seventy two hours since changes have been made. I just want this resolved.
Topic summary
A user is experiencing an SSL certificate stuck in “pending” status on Shopify after connecting their domain from sav.com. The domain appears to be using Cloudflare’s DNS by default, which may be causing configuration conflicts.
Key Technical Points:
- The domain is already connected and the site is displaying, but SSL won’t provision
- Cloudflare DNS is the default setting from the registrar (sav.com), not manually configured
- Required DNS records (A record or CNAME) may need to be added in Cloudflare’s dashboard
- The user cannot access domain configuration options in Shopify after initial setup
Suggested Solutions:
- Verify correct DNS records are configured in Cloudflare dashboard
- Wait 48-72 hours for DNS propagation
- Contact Shopify support if issue persists beyond 48 hours
Current Status:
The issue remains unresolved. Multiple other users have reported identical problems with different hosting providers (Cloudflare, Bluehost), suggesting this may be a broader configuration challenge. The original poster expressed frustration with automated support and requested human assistance, but no definitive solution has been shared in the thread.
Hi @rabdy-245N ,

It seems you’ve transferred your domain’s DNS management from sav.com to Cloudflare. This change is important to consider when dealing with SSL issues on Shopify.
- With Cloudflare managing your DNS, any required DNS changes should be made in the Cloudflare dashboard, not at sav.com.
- Double-check that you’ve added the correct DNS records required by Shopify in your Cloudflare settings. This typically includes an A record or CNAME record pointing to Shopify’s servers.
- After confirming your DNS settings in Cloudflare are correct, return to your Shopify admin and attempt to activate SSL again.
- If you continue to experience issues, it may be helpful to contact Shopify support. They can review your specific configuration and provide guidance on any additional steps needed to resolve the SSL pending status.
Remember, changes to DNS can take some time to propagate fully. If you’ve recently updated your settings, you might need to wait a bit longer for the changes to take effect.
I hope this helps you address the SSL issue. Feel free to ask if you need any further clarification!

Hello, thanks for the response. The cloudflare setting is the default DNS setting on Sav. I didn’t make any changes to that. I think I understand the issue though. What should I change it to other than cloudflare? Do I change both of them that are in the first pic?
Also, now when I go to domains in my Shopify account and click on the domains, I don’t have the option to change anything and it doesn’t show the various details I need to copy and paste to my host such as the CNAME. Do I need to remove the domain and start from scratch?
My site is showing up btw which makes this even more confusing. Shopify and my domain are connected.
Shopify needs to give us a heads up in the domain area of the potential cloudflare error beforehand instead of having us going through the steps then giving us the error message. They also need to provide the solution so we don’t have to come to you guys. If they have, please point me to that for future reference.
Hi, @rabdy-245N . If you’ve set up your domain by following the steps in this guide SSL will transition from ‘pending’ to ‘provisioned’ automatically once the domain is pointing properly. If you’ve followed these steps and it is still appearing as ‘pending’ after 48 hours it’s best to contact our support team through the Help Center here so we can take a closer look at it with you.
It’s useless AI. I need help from a real person because this is a nuanced issue that isn’t being answered in the help files.
Is there anyone else here I can speak with or someone I can contact? I still have the issue and I need answers.
Hey @rabdy-245N
