Shopify Just terminated our store for no reason (section 4.4), we just launched and we already had ordres on the first day. We can’t let our clients down !
We think there’s a problem and we would like to appeal the decision for the following reason:
We have reviewed the terms and our store does comply with the section 4.4 of the Shopify Terms of Service since we are an established brand selling products with a built community from social media which enabled us to get orders from the day of our launch.
Can we please get a direct contact to discuss this as we are confident it is just a mistake: we have been using Shopify for our other brands but never encountered a problem like this.
Looks like 4.4 states “You may not use the Shopify Services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose nor may you, in the use of the Service, violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws)” so I take it then that they have identified products on your store that are violating the law somewhere on some level. Best thing to do will be to speak to a local legal expert to understand how the law applies to the products you sell. Even just putting a Batman logo on something could be a violation of copyright law, you’d have to let a legal expert weigh in for sure.
Our stores operate in multiple countries, we have a company registered in Brazil and another in the United States, for all the products we work with, we have the right to resell them, we have already reviewed section 4.4 and our legal adviser did not find any irregularities either. It is very difficult to work with a platform that has no support at all. Our lawyer will send a notification to shopify so that we can understand the reason, and at least recover our URL
