Why am I not making any sales after a month of opening?

Hi Shopify Community,

I was hoping to get some feedback on my store. It’s been launched for about a month and as the title states I’ve had zero sales. At the time of posting this, the store has had roughly about 2370 views. I’ve used google ads and instagram to promote this store, however, I’m not sure what I’m missing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi @Shehroz ,

I’ve had a look at your store and have some ideas for you:

Ad Campaigns: It’s important to review your ad campaigns to ensure that you’re targeting the right audience. Make sure that your ad copy and images are clear and visually appealing. If you’re not getting any sales, it’s worth looking into whether your targeting is on point.

Currency: The store is currently using CAD as its currency, but it is selling worldwide. This may be a barrier for international customers who are not familiar with the CAD. It would be a good idea to consider offering prices in multiple currencies. This will make it easier for customers to understand the cost of the products and increase the chances of making a sale. Also consider if it’s better to start small and stop selling worldwide.

Trust Elements: Adding trust elements to the product page, such as a customer satisfaction guarantee, will help to build trust with potential customers. It’s important to show that your store is customer-friendly and that you stand behind the products you’re selling.

Product Descriptions: The product descriptions on your store look generic, and it’s hard to understand what makes your products unique. You could consider using a more visually appealing format to highlight the features of the products. This will make it easier for customers to understand the unique value of your products and increase the chances of making a sale.

Size Guide: The size guide is confusing, a visual guide would be better. A visual guide will allow customers to easily understand the size of the product and make it easier to choose the right size.

Header Navigation: In the header navigation, instead of “Apparel” you can add links to race track legends and racers edge. This will help customers to find the products they are looking for more easily and increase the chances of making a sale.

Kind regards

Hi @Shehroze ,

This is Victor from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App. After looking into your store, I have some comments below and hope that you can consider them to improve your site.

HOMEPAGE

1. Make a sticky header

A sticky header allows customers to quickly access the navigation, search, and utility-navigation elements whenever they scroll up or down on the page.

2. Add favicon to your homage

Favicon will help your visitors locate a web page more easily. It also plays an important role in conveying trust about your brand.

3. Add testimonial - customer reviews

When you go live and have sales, you can add Testimonials. Customer reviews are proof of your product quality. This section will help you build customers’ trust. You can show rating stars for each product or you can add customer reviews with both texts and photos to increase the legislation, like this:

4. Always include quick Add to cart buttons in product lists

It will save customers the trouble of having to click on a product in order to add it to their cart.

PRODUCT PAGE

1. Style Product Price to Be Highly Visible

Without a clear price, users cannot evaluate a critical aspect of the product. You should place the product price in the “Buy” section and increase its visibility by using a large font size (similar in size to the product headline), bold text style, or eye-catching color.

2. Include both User rating average and number of ratings

Many users rely on ratings and reviews to select products and displaying them right on each product in the first place can quickly build your credibility. For example:

Furthermore, for the upcoming Valentine’s Day, will you run any campaigns? Here are some promotion ideas for your campaigns, I hope they will be useful for you.

1. Personalize Your Offer for Valentine’s Day

Gift-giving is almost like a ritual on Valentine’s day. You can make the most out of it by offering products around Valentine’s theme.

  • If you already have products that people buy on Valentine’s Day, give them a little touch of love. It doesn’t matter if you’re selling a digital or a physical product.
  • If you don’t have a physical product, you can still curate special Valentine’s Day offers around your services that can be used on Valentine’s Day like “two for one” or “buy one, get one” deals.

2. Mention Your Delivery Time & Rates Clearly

Delivery time is one of those things that can make or break your business. And if it’s some holiday, buyers take the delivery dates too seriously. To convert these visitors into potential buyers, mention your delivery dates clearly across your website, app, and emails. Also, specify the last date to place an order to reach on time.

3. Create Gift Guides

As mentioned earlier, Valentine’s Day is the season of gift-giving. But, when it comes to finding a perfect gift, people have what’s called a perpetual dilemma.

You can do this by making Valentine’s day gift guide. Break the guide into sections based on gender, interests, or personality traits like this:

  • By Category: Valentine’s Day gifts for her/him, couples, teenagers
  • By Price Range: Best Valentine’s Day gift under $25, $50, $100
  • By Interest: Gift ideas for art lovers, dog lovers, and foodies

Hope my suggestions will help you improve your store and increase your sale

Warmest regards,

Hey @Shehroze .

Thanks for reaching out.

I appreciate that you have included your online store URL for us to explore! It looks like you have received some really great feedback on this thread.

Looking into your online store, I noticed that you are using the announcement bar to inform your customers of any ongoing sales or free shipping offers. That is a great idea to get your customers browsing through the available collections.

What do you think about including a slideshow as the first section on the homepage? This can allow you to showcase your products to your visitors as soon as they load into the store. For example, you could include your best seller or favorite product in the slides. It is a good way to strengthen your brand and it can make your homepage more engaging and personalized.

You have beautiful products on your store, by the way! I would suggest on adding more social media presence on the footer of your online store. I noticed that you have your Instagram displayed on the footer of your online store. Adding more social proof can provide your customers with security about their online purchase. You can include your Facebook, TikTok or other social media by managing the Theme Settings. I took a screenshot of the section I am referring to on your online store:
