Why are products showing as unavailable on mobile but not on computer?

I have found when purchasing through a link to our store on a mobile phone, the products show as unavailable, yet on the computer they are available…

Is there a step I have missed whilst setting my store up?

It sounds as though you are having some issues with your products on a mobile device, as they are showing as unavailable. I would be happy to assist.

Can you confirm if this is happening with specific products, or is this happening with all products on your store? Also, are you seeing any error messages or anything that would indicate something is not right with these products when trying to access them on mobile?

Feel free to share a link to an affected product so that I can test this myself on both desktop and mobile devices - I can check if this happens for me also, or if it’s more specific to your localised setup.

Some things to try for the moment include the following:

  • Check the product inventory, and ensure the products in question have available inventory.

  • Make sure the products are set to available for the Online Store sales channel.

  • Clear the cache & cookies on the mobile device browser. You can also test using another browser, a different mobile device and if possible different internet networks.

Once you send on the links to the affected products and try the above troubleshooting steps, I can take a closer look and we can continue troubleshooting this issue. You can of course reach our team directly via the help center here at any time.

Hi Rick, I probably should have mentioned these are products that are linked to Amazon as affiliates.
A friend has purchased through a desktop computer with no problems, but I’ve had family members test it from their mobiles, but products say unavailable.

Could you briefly explain how you have the products linked to Amazon as affiliates? Are you using the Amazon MCF: US Fulfillment app from the Shopify app store, or perhaps another third-party app?

Would it be possible to provide a screenshot of the products showing as unavailable when you click them on mobile? I am interested to know if you are seeing this error on your Shopify store, or perhaps on an Amazon page? Also, where you are you generating the links from - Shopify, or Amazon? Feel free to share a link here if you are comfortable doing so.

Have you tried testing this on various mobile devices to identify if the issue persists across different platforms and browsers? This could help to pinpoint whether it’s a general mobile compatibility issue or specific to certain devices or browsers.

Once I have some more information to go on, we can troubleshoot this further and I will have a better idea of where you can get support if necessary!

I use the Spreadr for Amazon app to link the products, the checker says
it’s all good, and the links are working.
I have had a few people try on their mobile with the same outcome of
“currently unavailable”

I have attached the link to the shopify store as an example -

Many thanks for getting back with this extra information, and for providing the example link. I am unable to see any attached screenshots however, so perhaps you could try re-posting them here if you feel that they would be useful?

Can you please confirm exactly where the ‘currently unavailable’ message is showing for your customers on mobile - is this on your Shopify store, or on Amazon?

I clicked the link you provided, and I was able to see the products on your store. Each product I checked didn’t have a price or availability shown on your store, and instead has a ‘View on Amazon’ button which redirects you to the Amazon website. I do indeed see the ‘currently unavailable’ message shown on the Amazon pages themselves.

Can you confirm if the Spreadr app you mentioned is this one here from the Shopify App Store? If so, I would suggest reaching out to the developers directly to let them know what is happening. This is a third-party app, that is not developed or supported by Shopify directly. Contacting the developers for support as per the information on this resource here will be a good idea, as they will be in the best position to provide app-specific help.
