Why does editing one product page affect others on my ecommerce store?

I opened a Shopify store and uploaded some products.

An error occurred while creating a page to introduce the product.

If you edit the introduction page of one product, the contents of the introduction page of other products are also modified.

Each product has a different introduction page and different images.

I want to configure a different introduction page for each product. I don’t understand why the content keeps changing along with other introduction pages.

Please tell me the solution.

Before diving in, I do have a few questions I’d like to ask so I can gather some additional context, and make sure I fully understand your situation:

  • What theme are you currently using in your Shopify store?
  • Are these ‘introduction’ pages a page that you built yourself using Shopify’s ‘page’ functionality? What exactly are you editing when you reference your ‘product introduction page’?
  • Is the introduction being included on the product page itself, or is it an entirely different page?

Based off of the information you provided in your post, it sounds like you’ve made changes to a theme template for your pages. A Theme Template is the frame that pages are built around. Editing the template directly will cause those exact edits to appear on all pages using the same template. An example of this would be the product page ‘theme templates’ that our Free Themes offer. In a free Shopify theme, there is one product page template to be used. If that template is edited directly, that edit is reflected on all product pages that use that template. Typically the way around this would be to build a new template and assign that template to the products you’re looking to show unique information on.
