Why does my website show the wrong price?

Hello, I’m having issues on my Shopify site with the pricing. I input $19.99 on the back end but in the live site it shows $16.52. I’m not sure why it’s auto reducing. Can anyone help? Www.youvibewevibe.com

thanks

Megan

Hello, @Therealmeghulme .

Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention!

I’ve taken a look at your site (youvibewevibe.com) and I wasn’t able to find any products at the $16.52 price point. However, I did find a couple of products priced at $19.99. Just to confirm, are you still experiencing this issue? If so, could you clarify which products are appearing with the incorrect pricing?

If you’re using Shopify Payments and Shopify Markets, then price rounding is a feature that can be enabled. To check if you have this enabled, please take a look at your Market settings (‘Settings > Markets’). After that, navigate to the Other markets section and click Preferences. From there, you can enable or disable a checkbox for price rounding.

That being said, I think your store looks amazing! I love that you have a live chat function on the store and all of the images (eg. product, banners, sliders) are beautifully aligned - great job! Since removing the “Powered by Shopify” message from the footer is a popular request and could add to the professionalism of your store, would this be something that interests you?

I’d love to hear more about your business! Would you be running ad campaigns? Or, do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?

Hi Elias

Thanks so much for your message and your compliments to my store! I am so excited about this entrepreneurial endeavour and I am hoping for the very best! I am very interested in the topic on a broader scale and hope to bring some confidence, happiness to people out in the world.

Yes! How do I remove ‘powered by Shopify’? Is this something you could help me with?

I have enabled the UK and Canada markets. How do they appear as ‘sub folders’? Or will it simply be that these are likely to appear in these particular ‘markets’ now with SEO? I do have a company in Miami who are helping me with Google marketing.

One really big question I have for you, I only have the payment option of Paypal. Do you think this is deterring customers at Checkout?

Thanks for your help and compliments. I hope you have a great evening!

Kind regards

Megan

Sorry - to answer your other question, I think I fixed the issue with the pricing. I am not sure what I did or how I did it but I have seemed to fix it.

Hi, @Therealmeghulme .

Thank you for following up and sharing the additional context!

I’m glad to hear that the pricing issue has been resolved. If you’re looking to remove the “Powered by Shopify” message, then you can do that through the language editor. To do this, simply navigate to ‘Online store > Themes > Actions > Edit language’ from your Shopify admin. Once you’re in the language editor, simply perform a translation search for the term “powered” or navigate to the Checkout & System tab. From there, look for the Powered by Shopify box and enter a space or replace the existing text with a space - then save the changes. You can also remove this from the opening soon/password page, so I’d recommend taking a look at the linked guide above as well.

The markets are sorted into market types, such as primary market, single-country markets, multiple-country markets, international market, and countries/regions you don’t sell to. However, as I wouldn’t consider myself an expert on SEO/marketing, I’d encourage seeing if the marketing experts that you’re working with can take a look. There are some factors, like international domains, that could help with the analytics/reports. With that being said, I believe that SEO primarily uses meta descriptions and I can confirm that meta descriptions per market is currently a known limitation with Shopify Markets. Nevertheless, I can also confirm that we are aiming to add support to update meta descriptions later in 2022. Once that’s available, we’ll be sure to announce this on our changelog.

Personally, only having the PayPal payment option doesn’t deter me from purchasing from a particular store as I do have an account myself. However, while PayPal does also provide the option to checkout using credit cards, this option isn’t always available (as this depends on the location of the customers and merchants) - as a result, I can imagine that some customers without a PayPal account could be deterred or discouraged from checking out.

I understand that Shopify Payments may not be an option, as your products aren’t supported by the Shopify Payments Terms of Service. However, since offering more ways for customers to pay is never a bad idea, can you share where you’re located or operating from? Did you get a chance to check out third-party gateways, such as Authorize.Net or eMerchant?
