Why is international shipping not available at checkout for Canadian customers?

I have international shipping set for Canada and just set up for the UK. My Canada customers are telling me that when they go to checkout it says “shipping not available for the selected address.” I’ve double checked that I entered everything correctly but I must be missing something??

Hi @AlyssaShinew ,
Can you please share a screenshot of the shipping rates that you have added for your customers. So that I can help you in a much better way.
Thanks

Hi @AlyssaShinew ,

I guess it will be better if can share the screenshot of the settings as this error might be happening for multiple reasons.

Hi, @AlyssaShinew .

Thanks for sharing the error message that your customers are seeing. I went through some troubleshooting steps in regards to a similar shipping rate issue on this Community Forums thread. You can go through the steps I listed in that thread to see if that will resolve your issue.

You can also double check your products on cart and ensure that they’ve been marked as a physical product within the product page on your store’s Shopify admin, so that they’re eligible for shipping. Check out the ‘Shipping’ section of this help guide for more information on this.

If you still can’t pinpoint where the issue is stemming from, our Live Support team can help investigate your shipping settings from our end to further troubleshoot this matter. We won’t be able to do this here via the Community Forums though, due to security reasons. So to get in touch with our team, you’ll need to login to your store via our Help Center here. Once logged in, select a topic that best fits your query or situation. From there, you’ll be taken to a page with a list of relevant support articles, and you can scroll to the bottom of that page to select your preferred contact method with our team.

When was the last time you checked your shipping rates and revisited the shipping strategies on your store? Having a solid shipping strategy will definitely help with the smooth-running of your overall business operations, so if you need help optimizing this aspect of your store, I’ve curated a few resources you can take a look at. Feel free to have a good read of them below:

Thanks for sharing those screenshots, @AlyssaShinew .

Can you also double check your store’s Markets settings, to see if Canada is an active market on your store?

To check, you’ll need to navigate to Settings > Markets on your Shopify admin. If you see that Canada isn’t yet an active market, you can click Manage > Activate as seen below in order to activate it within your store’s shipping page on checkout. You can take a look at this help guide for more information on this.

If you don’t see Canada within your Markets list however, you can add it as a new market by clicking the Add market button instead to create a new market specifically for that region.

Once you’ve set up Canada as a market on your store, you can test the checkout page from your end to see if you’ll be presented with shipping rate options if you’re checking out with a Canadian address on your store. Remember that you can also fully test your checkout by putting your payment provider on test mode, to make sure that the checkout process is operating smoothly and as intended. We have instructions here that you can follow to guide you on how to place a test order on your store. If you’re using Shopify Payments, follow the instructions listed here instead.
