Why is my SSL certificate showing site not secure error on Shopify?

Getting error that site is not secure. Just started 5 days ago. Shopify issues the SSL certificates. How do I get this fixed? Cannot even accept the risk. Get 403 Error.

Hey @Amy_Laymon .

Thanks for reaching out.

Just to gather some additional context, did you purchase this domain directly off of the Shopify platform? Or, is this a third-party domain that you have connected to your online store?

Depending on whether your domain is from a third-party or it is a Shopify managed domain, it can take up to 48 hours for the SSL to be approved on a domain that is connected to your online store. Since it has been 5 days since the SSL has been pending, you may need to disconnect the subdomain on the domain in question to have the SSL approved. If that is the case, you can re-add the subdomain back to the domain immediately after the SSL is applied.

You can manage the subdomains connected to a domain by navigating to Settings > Domains and selecting the domain with the SSL pending. Once you are managing the domain, you should see the section listed with the connected subdomains.

Looking forward to your response.

Hello Ollie,

I am using a third-party domain. Since Shopify is hosting the website, does Shopify issue the SSL for the site? I don’t think I ever got an SSL from my domain provider.

Hey @Amy_Laymon .

Thanks for the quick response.

When you successfully connect your third-party domain to your online store, Shopify will provide the SSL certificate for the third-party domain within 48 hours. Since I cannot authenticate you for the store in question over the Community forums due to the sensitive information that would need to be shared, I am unable to look into the specifics of the domain. In this case, I would suggest reaching out to our support by logging into your online store using our Contact Us page. This will allow us to securely verify you as the store owner.

Once you successfully login, or select the option to Continue without logging in - you will be directed to the Help Center. Select the topic that you would like assistance with to locate the options to Get Support and speak directly with a Support Advisor about the SSL pending on the domain.

Let me know if you have any questions.
