Why isn't my online store loading properly on my Chromebook?

Hi,

My Shopify isn’t loading properly, I’ve tried clearing data and cache and it still wont load. I’ve tried using a private window but that doesn’t work either. It will work on my phone and on other devices so it must be something on my computer? I have a chrome book and use chrome search engine. What can I do?

Thank you,

Jana.

Hey @PurifiedandCo ,

Welcome to the Shopify Community!

If you’re experiencing issues with Shopify not loading properly on your Chromebook, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try (or repeat):

  • Restart your Chromebook: Sometimes, restarting your device can help fix software issues that may be causing the problem.
  • Check your internet connection: Make sure that your Chromebook is connected to a stable and reliable internet connection. You can try resetting your router or modem to see if that helps.
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies: Sometimes, browser data can become corrupted and cause issues with websites. Clearing your browser cache and cookies can help resolve these issues.
  • Disable browser extensions: Browser extensions can sometimes interfere with website functionality. Try disabling any extensions you have installed in Chrome and see if that helps.
  • Try using a different browser: If the issue persists, try using a different browser, such as Firefox or Edge, to see if the problem is specific to Chrome.

Let me know how you get on!

Hello @PurifiedandCo ,

I am Gina from flareAI app. Hope you are having a good day.

If you’ve tried clearing your cache and using a private window and it’s still not working, there are a few other things you can try:

  1. Try using a different web browser
If you have another web browser installed on your Chromebook, try accessing Shopify using that browser. If Shopify works on the other browser, then the issue is likely with your Chrome browser.

  2. Check your browser extensions
Sometimes browser extensions can interfere with the functioning of websites. Try disabling your browser extensions and see if that helps.

  3. Disable your firewall or antivirus software
If you have a firewall or antivirus software installed, it could be blocking Shopify. Try temporarily disabling it and see if that resolves the issue.

  4. Update your browser
Ensure that your Chrome browser is up-to-date. You can check for updates in the Chrome settings menu.

  5. Clear your DNS cache
Try clearing your DNS cache, which may help to resolve the issue. You can do this by opening the command prompt and entering the command “ipconfig/flushdns”.

If none of these solutions work, you may need to contact Shopify support for further assistance.
