I Keep getting the message:
You must enter a valid shipping origin contact name.
when trying to buy a shipping label with UPS or Purolator but not with Canada Post.
Can someone tell me what I need to fix?

Hello,
You’re getting that error because UPS and Purolator require a valid “Shipping Origin Contact Name” in your shipping settings. Canada Post is more lenient, which is why it still works there.
Go to your shipping settings or fulfillment app and make sure the contact name field is filled out under the “Shipping Origin” section. Use a full name (e.g., “John Smith”), not just a company name or left blank.

Hi @MTHELLHotSauces ,
This error usually means that the Shipping origin contact name field in your Shopify settings is either empty or contains invalid characters that UPS or Purolator doesn’t accept.
Here’s how you can fix it:
Go to Settings > Shipping and delivery in your Shopify admin
Under Shipping origins, click Manage next to your location
Check the Contact name field, make sure it’s filled in with a valid name (e.g. “John Smith”, not just initials or symbols)
Save the changes
Sometimes Canada Post is more lenient, but UPS and Purolator require a properly formatted contact name to process the label.
Once updated, try purchasing the shipping label again, it should go through without that error.
Let me know if you’re still seeing issues after this.
If this helped, please mark it as a solution so others can find it too!
