Hi everyone, I recently launched my Shopify store and in the last 2 days I got around 1100 visitors. The traffic is coming in, but I haven’t had a single sale yet. The checkout process works fine (tested it myself), I offer PayPal, ShopPay and credit card payments. What could be the issue? Is it because my store is new, or am I missing something important that could help build trust and increase conversions? Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi @vroomt
Welcome to the community.
First advice, share you store link
That way we all can check. But I guess it is vroomt.com ?
Second advice to search this community for similar topics “No sales”.
But for your site in short: that black and neon green colors are heavy on eyes. And products, just another drop-shipping store, not much content/text, default images, not much product info, not much sections, reviews…
Good thing you have some contact info, that is a good trust signal but please replace that yahoo email with one from your domain.
Welcome to the community.
it would be better if you would share your store link so we can all view it and check out what is wrong and can thereby suggest possible fixes
Hi @vroomt,
Congrats on driving that much traffic in just a couple of days — that’s a solid start! If checkout is working fine, then the issue usually isn’t technical but more about trust and conversion signals. A few key things to look at:
-
Product-Market Fit – Make sure the visitors are the right audience. If your traffic is mostly from low-quality sources (e.g. untargeted ads or bots), you’ll see clicks but no conversions.
-
Trust Builders – New stores often struggle here. Elements like real product reviews, clear refund/return policies, secure payment badges, and professional product photos help customers feel safe to buy.
-
Store Design & Copy – Visitors decide in seconds if a store looks trustworthy. Clean navigation, consistent branding, and clear benefit-driven product descriptions are crucial.
-
Social Proof & Urgency – Even one or two reviews, UGC-style images, or limited-time offers can make a big difference.
-
Analytics – Check where people drop off in the funnel (add to cart → checkout → purchase). That shows exactly where trust is breaking.
The good news is this is totally normal for a new store — most merchants go through this stage. With some tweaks, you can turn those visitors into buyers.
If you’d like, I can take a look at your store and share tailored suggestions to help improve your conversion rate. Sometimes a few targeted changes are all it takes to start seeing sales.
Hello, thank you for the quick reply. I agree, you can visit the store and see if there are any possible mistakes. Thank you for your help! Vroomt.com is the store name.thanks!
Hi! Thank you for your reply. I didn’t understand how to change the email and what email I should replace it with. Can you take a look and maybe spot any other mistakes? Yes, the name of the store is vroomt.com! Thank you for your help!
On your Contact information page you have vroomt.contact [email removed] yahoo .com
but it would look more professional to have contact [email removed] vroomt.com.
And to give a bit feedback, think you should have a proper menu in header with some main collections and maybe sub-collections. On homepage:
- First section with For Car and For Moto, both images should be clickable, customers for sure try that few times and then maybe click text below image. Note Second image, for moto looks like bad ChatGTP generated image, proportions are off.
- " We engineer solutions" do you really engineer ?
- Last section again big images, and you could search here think there are a few solutions that give you clickable images as well.
Collection pages, think it needs a good description and to split 2 main collections to more smaller but with keywords people will search.
Product page, not much going on there. Small description text, and “you may also like” is not enough. You could use some customer reassuranse section ,maybe icons and text. Some shipping/return policy links. And try to change Add to cart button from outline to full accent color background, as that would make it more notisable.
Your cart page have 2 white square on side, looks wrong.
Thank you for your reply. The problem is that visitors reach the checkout and then stop; they select products, add them to the cart, but don’t complete the payment. I have placed test orders myself and even asked someone else to make an order on the site, and everything works correctly. So the system is fine — the problem may be related to customers’ trust in my new store.
First, you need to verify where the traffic is coming from. Looking at the privacy policy, I can see it was last updated on Sept. 6. If you have just started and haven’t done anything to get traffic, then most likely it’s not human traffic, but testing bots. . But if the traffic is from ads, maybe you’re targeting the wrong type of audience.
Next is the overall site appearance. Heavy and bright contrast hurts the eyes. Homepage “Motorbike Crash Pads” is being cut out of the image. On desktop, the two first images take up the whole screen, which is not too good.
Trust: The email is Yahoo, which tells customers it’s not professional. The homepage says "We engineer solutions that enhance your experience“. Do you, though? We all fluff our sites a bit, but this is a very large claim. When checked against Google Lens, I can see your “Dual Stainless Exhaust Tips” image is straight from Temu:
Another interesting find is the Crash Pads:
and again:
Trust, authenticity, and originality is very important. You should always be original in what you offer. If you are offering a Temu, Alibaba, AliExpress, or whatever product, it should be stated as such, and you should not claim to “engineer” anything. If not, then you shouldn’t add their product images.
Site operators and business owners need to think about long term sustainability. So far, what you have to offer is not sustainable.
Hi @vroomt!
Many important points have already been discussed. I have noticed another crucial factor: your product line is quite narrow. In physical markets, customers tend to visit stores that offer a wide variety of products while maintaining adequate stock. It would be beneficial to expand your product line as much as possible. A broader range of products will help build customer trust, and people will perceive your store as more vibrant and active.
Take your time and be patient; make a little extra effort every day, and gradually build your customer base. We look forward to hearing your success story soon.
Wishing you all the best!
Thank you very much for the advice, I will put it into practice.
Hi @vroomt
Hi there,
Congrats on driving good traffic to your new Shopify store—that’s a great start! If visitors aren’t converting yet despite a smooth checkout process and multiple payment options, the issue could be related to boosting the average order value (AOV) and increasing customer engagement during shopping.
To help turn your traffic into sales, I recommend using either the BiDeal Bundle Volume Discounts app or the BiSell Upsell & Cross Sell app:
- BiDeal Bundle Volume Discounts makes it easy to create attractive bundle deals and volume discounts, encouraging customers to buy more items at a better price, increasing AOV and improving perceived value.
- BiSell Upsell & Cross Sell allows you to show personalized product recommendations, complementary add-ons, and “Frequently Bought Together” offers right on the product page, cart, and checkout. This helps entice shoppers to add extra products naturally.
Both apps are user-friendly, integrate seamlessly with Shopify, and have proven effective in increasing conversion rates and average order sizes.
Additionally, building trust with your new store can include:
-
Featuring clear product reviews and testimonials
-
Displaying trust badges and secure payment icons
-
Using professional, consistent branding and high-quality product images
-
Offering clear shipping and return policies
Combining these best practices with upsell and bundle strategies using BiDeal or BiSell should help improve your conversion rates significantly.
Wishing you great success with your store! Let me know if you want tips on setting up these apps.
@vroomt I fail to give you a very detailed advice and suggestion if without seeing your store in the flesh. Would you mind sharing store URL here for my reference? I will help check in the role of a customer and tell you my feelings of how it looks and if can perform better. Thank you!
Hi @vroomt
I completely understand your situation — getting traffic but no sales can feel discouraging, but it’s actually quite common for new Shopify stores. The good news is that the issue usually isn’t with your checkout, but with how visitors perceive and experience your store. Let’s break it down:
1. First Impressions & Trust Signals
When someone lands on your site, they instantly ask themselves: “Can I trust this store?” If the answer isn’t clear, they leave without buying.
Solution:
-
Add trust-building pages like About Us, Shipping Policy, and Returns/Refunds.
-
Place secure payment icons (Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, ShopPay) near your checkout or product page.
-
Use high-quality product images with zoom options.
-
Add a few customer reviews/testimonials (even starting with one or two real ones builds confidence).
2. Audience & Product Fit
You had 1,100 visitors with no sales, which often means either:
-
The wrong people are visiting (ads not targeted well).
-
Or the visitors are right, but the offer doesn’t feel strong enough.
**Solution:
** -
If you’re running ads, refine them — target by age, location, and interest. For example, if your product is niche, don’t use broad targeting.
-
Test whether your product description clearly explains the benefit (not just the features). Instead of “Made of premium cotton,” try “Soft cotton that keeps you comfortable all day.”
3. Checkout Confidence
Even if the checkout works, buyers sometimes drop off if it feels risky.
Solution:
-
Add a money-back guarantee or “Free returns within 14 days” notice near the Buy button.
-
Use a checkout progress bar (Step 1: Shipping → Step 2: Payment). It makes the process feel lighter.
-
Highlight Free shipping if you offer it, or show how much more they need to spend to unlock it.
4. Site Speed & User Experience
A slow site can kill conversions before they even start. If a store takes 7–10 seconds to load, many visitors leave before browsing.
Solution:
-
Compress images (Shopify already helps, but you can reduce large files further).
-
Enable lazy loading so images load only when a visitor scrolls down.
-
Defer heavy scripts so the page content loads first, and background scripts run later.
Recommended:If you don’t want to handle these steps manually, there are tools that automate speed improvements. You can check it out here: Website Speedy app on Shopify app store. works in the background to compress images, enable lazy loading, and optimize scripts — all without needing technical setup. That way, you can focus on growing your store while it stays fast for your visitors.
Hello @vroomt ,
I hope you are doing well!
Basically, AiTrillion is the ideal app to help turn your visitors into loyal customers. It’s designed to boost engagement on your store through powerful automation tools. With features like popups, loyalty rewards, product recommendations, customer account and more. AiTrillion helps capture abandoning visitors and convert them before they leave — maximizing every opportunity for sales and growth.
Here are the tools available in AiTrillion which can help you:
Use Exit-Intent Popups: Capture leaving visitors with irresistible offers (discounts, free shipping, etc.) before they bounce.
Offer a Welcome Discount: Encourage first-time visitors to make a purchase with a limited-time discount or offer.
Build Trust with Reviews & Testimonials: Showcase real customer reviews, ratings, and user-generated content to build credibility.
Enable Live Chat or AI Chatbots: Answer visitor questions in real time to remove buying hesitation.
Personalize the Shopping Experience: Recommend products based on browsing history, behavior, or location.
Use Abandoned Cart Recovery Emails: Remind users of their cart contents and offer incentives to complete the purchase.
Simplify the Checkout Process: Reduce friction with a fast, mobile-friendly, and secure checkout experience.
You can also get details of customers who left at checkout or who filled out the payment info and left without placing an order. It is helpful to connect with them to ask the reason why they left the store without placing order.
Congrats on the traffic
That’s a great start! No sales in the first days is very common. Usually, the issue isn’t the checkout but traffic quality, trust, and product presentation.
-
Check where visitors are coming from—if they’re not your target audience, sales will be low.
-
Add trust signals (About page, policies, reviews, clear shipping info).
-
Make sure product photos, descriptions, and pricing are strong and transparent.
-
Optimize for mobile—most shoppers browse on phones.
It takes time for a new store to build credibility, but with the right audience and trust signals, conversions will follow. If you’d like, share your store link and I (and others here) can give you some more targeted feedback.
Thank you so much for the tips, vroomt.com is the name of my store!
Well, how can I contact a visitor if they haven’t entered their email or filled in any personal information? Thank you for the advice and help!
Hi! Thank you so much, I’ll install them to see what they’re about and if I can manage them. Thanks a lot for your help!
