So, I can’t get into my account even though the name and password is correct because it sends a verification code to an old mobile number I don’t have access to. Then it tells me when trying to use the recovery codes that they are out of date or invalid. I’m in like 9 circles of hell or something because around and around I go and no way out or in to any resemblance of sanity.
When you go to our help center to get support, you have the option to either login or continue without a store.
For obvious reasons, I recommend that you reach out to our support without logging in (because you can’t) and outline the issue with them. They will need to obtain some verifying information from you in order to escalate your issue to the relevant department.
We cannot do any of that over the forums ourselves as we cannot access your store for security purposes.
So, I am still in the circle of hell. I go to help center, scroll to the bottom to “contact Shopify support” because I’m tired of looking through the help sections and finding nothing that helps my situation. I click on contact support and sends to me another page to continue as logged in or not logged in. I chose not logged in for obvious reasons and back to the help center or community forums. Round and round, been doing this off and on for the past 2 hours? I think?
Where exactly am I suppose to go to get real human interactive help?
That does sound tedious! I suspect the issue may be to do with the cookies on your browser. Basically, you can accrue cookies on your browser over time and they may interfere with the proper function of your internet browsing - this can happen occasionally to anyone.
That is most strange. I had to check myself to see if I could replicate the issue, and as you’ll see from this video I could not - meaning that it is not a platform issue but a local issue.
When you refreshed the cache, how far back did you clear the cookies? You might want to try clearing your cache of all time:
Failing that, you may need to try a different device or internet connection to see if the issue is related to either!
so I was able to live chat with someone and it helped. I was able to deactivate my store, but it wasn’t anything he did. Shopify decided to send me a new code via email that it did not do earlier…no clue why it didn’t the first time and why it did it this last time. Clearing the cache? I don’t know. But its done.
