Does transferring store ownership grant a new owner a free trial?

Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify Community with your question!

When transferring a store from a development store to the client, there is no option to have a free trial. In order to transfer ownership and begin selling, billing information must be provided. The new owner will need to enter payment details and select a subscription to complete the transfer and launch their store.
