First of all I’m new to shopify. Therefore I wanted to try out the 14 days free trial. I’ve built up a store and now I have a problem. Whenever I am trying to checkout and pay (for testing) it says “checkout isn’t available”.
What can I do to fix this problem and are there other things I have to change?
I’m excited to hear you’ve decided to try out our platform. It sounds like the setup has gone well, outside of the issue you’re currently encountering, since you’re already at the stage of testing your checkout. Since it appears that you’re almost ready to start taking orders, I suggest checking out our launch checklist if you haven’t come across this yet. It’s got some great tips on how to ensure you have a successful and profitable launch.
Now, have you already selected a subscription plan for your store, or are you still on the free trial period? If you’re still on the trial period, this is the reason you’re unable to access your checkout. In order to make your checkout accessible and available, you’ll need to select a plan. If you still have days left on your 14-day free trial, you don’t have to worry about getting charged yet as this only happens once the trial is up. If you would like to continue with your store, you can keep your account and store active and your billing cycle will start automatically after the trial. Otherwise, you may deactivate your account before the trial ends and you won’t be charged for the subscription.
If you need suggestions on your plan, the Basic Shopify plan is a great one to start with. You can select this by following the steps on this page. If you would like to see a comparison of our plans, you can take a look at our pricing page.
