How can I delete a domain from my online store?

Hi,

i am unable to delete my domain on shopify, I have watched countless youtube videos and read forums and there is no option for me to manage and delete a domain on my page. Please can someone help.

There is no option for me to delete the domain, it is blank. There is no option to manage it either.

It would be great if you could share a screenshot of how your admin looks like when you try to remove the domain.

There could be one reason you don’t see the ‘delete’ option, and I’m happy to guide you. If the domain you want to remove is your primary domain, then you need to change your primary domain before you can remove the domain. In most cases, the custom domain will be set to primary, so make sure to check if this is preventing you from removal.

Once you removed the domain as primary, you can follow these steps to remove it:

  • From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains.
  • Click the name of the domain that you want to remove.
  • Click Delete domain.
  • Click Remove again to confirm.

After you remove a third-party domain, you can change your DNS settings in your domain provider account to point it to another website.

Do you want to assign this domain to another Shopify store? If so, then you can reconnect it in your Shopify admin.
