How can I manage post-order discounts and returns without distorting data?

I frequently have to apply discounts after an order because customers forget to apply discount codes. Since Shopify doesn’t allow discount codes applied after an order is placed, I have to apply a partial refund. This distorts my return data, as partial refunds count as returns.

Is there any solution I’m overlooking or a practice I should implement to help? Thank you.

Sounds like regular discount codes are creating a lot of manual work for you.

Shopify’s built-in automatic discounts apply to all customers.
