How can I request a refund for an unwanted subscription charge?

Hello,

I opened up my bank account only to be shocked by a payment from Shopify for the monthly subscription. I completely forgot that i had a trial store with a selected plan that i did not close. I did not want to continue with the store i forgot to close it. How do i get a refund as i want to close the store and did not have the money to pay for this.

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that sometimes things get in the way, and we forget some tasks.

Once you are sure your store is 100% closed, you can reach out to our live support to request a refund if you wish. A refund is not guaranteed and we take each request on a case-by-case basis, so please do bear this in mind when making the request.

In order to do so, we’ll need to access your account. We cannot provide account-specific support via the Shopify Community at this time, but we’d be happy to continue assisting you through live chat, email, or callback.

Please visit our Contact page. Once you log in, select the topic you’d like to discuss with the Support Advisor. In your case, click on Account. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you should see the ‘Get Support’ section, where you can select your preferred communication channel.
