Product "doesn't ship" when Adding Product to Shipping Rates

I have added shipping rates and profiles. When I try to add products under the shipping profile, most of my items show “item doesn’t ship” and does not allow me to click/add shipping rate. I’m wondering what selection needs to be changed to add product to shipping rates? Thank you!

It’s possible that your products are not set to ‘physical’. Each product listing (or variant listing, if you use variants) has a check box that states, ‘This is a physical product’. When this box is unchecked, Shopify assumes it has no physical properties and therefore does not require shipping. I would check this first. If the box is checked, and the issue is persisting, you may want to reach out to Shopify support for assistance.

Go into one of your product information pages. You’ll see different information sections stacked down the page

  • Title
  • Media
  • Pricing
  • Inventory
  • Shipping
  • Options

In the Shipping section, you should see the check box for ‘This is a physical product’.

If your products have variants, this setting will be in each variant - it isn’t shown on the parent product page.

Found it! Checked physical product.

What do I put in the box that will include all five sizes?

Typically for variants - size or colour variants - each one has its own check box for “physical product”.

Hi Ron, why I can’t found that option when I already saved the product? I can just see that option if i am creating new product. What should I do?

Hello. The Setting should be available on all products, not just new ones. There may be something specific about your configuration that is blocking it. I would recommend contacting Shopify support directly to see if they can resolve the problem. https://help.shopify.com/en/support/login

This helped me as well after searching EVERYWHERE for an answer! Thank you! If you have an integrated listing, you need to go into the variants to find this box. Wish there was a way to bulk edit this haha.
