Rate my store - No sales but heaps of ads

Topic summary

A Shopify store owner seeks feedback on thechewcrewshop.com, which sells jawline enhancement products. Despite running $6/day Meta ads and maintaining active Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook accounts, the store has generated only two sales in two months. Ads are driving clicks but no conversions.

Key Issues Identified:

  • Critical errors: About page contains placeholder text “[Your Company Name]” and broken HTML, signaling lack of polish
  • Design problems: Misaligned header elements during loading, poor mobile responsiveness, disorganized layouts, and inconsistent spacing on product pages
  • Missing trust signals: No customer reviews, generic branding, amateur logo, and template-based content
  • Content gaps: Text-heavy pages, lack of product videos, insufficient product descriptions

Recommended Solutions:

  • Add product reviews (via apps like Ryviu), videos, and detailed descriptions
  • Implement sticky announcement bar, collapsible FAQs, and improved mobile design
  • Fix placeholder text and HTML errors immediately
  • Consider Google Ads/Shopping for higher-intent traffic instead of relying solely on social media
  • Invest in professional logo and unique brand storytelling
  • Use analytics to track user behavior and optimize conversion funnel

The owner acknowledged implementing some suggested features. Discussion remains open for further optimization.

Hi There,

Is it possible if I could please get some feedback on my store please. Please also provide a rating out of 10. I am not sure what I am doing incorrect.

Website: thechewcrewshop.com

I am also paying for meta ads which should located a target market and get people to purchase products but have only had two sales over past two months. I am currently spending $6 a day on ‘sales’ directed meta ads. These ads are getting clicks to my website but no further than that.

I also promote my products on the below services (not trying to advertise but want review on what I could be doing incorrect). These services also offer freebies or promotions that are running.

I have a:

Instagram: thechewcrewshop and therealchewcrew

tiktok: thechewcrewshop

facebook: thechewcrewshop

Would greatly appreciate any help at all please!

You can try to add product reviews for your drop-ship products. Ryviu app can help you import reviews from aliexpress and Amazon and display them on your product pages/

Hi there,

I hope you’re doing well! My name is Rohail, and we specialize in branded Shopify store design and premium themes for vendors looking to improve their website’s conversion rate.

  • Moving Elements During Loading: It’s crucial to present a fully loaded website to customers. Currently, the header elements misalign when the homepage is refreshed. Consider adding a pre-loading animation to create a seamless user experience.
  • Enhance Your First Impression (Top Banner): The first thing customers notice is your website’s design. The text and button alignment in your homepage banner are off. Try using a different banner optimized for mobile devices to improve mobile responsiveness and overall design quality.
  • Missing Heading in the Categories Section: Adding a clear heading above the featured categories on your homepage will help visitors understand what this section is about.
  • FAQs Page Design: Use collapsible tabs for a cleaner and more organized FAQs page. Consider utilizing pre-built theme sections to enhance the layout.
  • About Us Page: The page is text-heavy. A well-designed “About Us” page can build trust and engagement, as many customers read about the brand before making a purchase.
  • Contact Us Page: Adding more design elements like icons and details can improve the visual appeal and functionality of this important page.
  • Missing Banners and Filters in Category Pages: Banners and filters are essential for guiding users and improving navigation on category pages.
  • Product Page Layout Issues: Some elements on your product pages lack proper spacing, while others (like the sale timer) have too much space. Aligning these elements properly is crucial since product pages are where conversions happen.
  • Simplify Product Descriptions: Use collapsible tabs for product details to make the information more digestible and improve the overall user experience.
  • Based on your community post, you’re getting traffic but no sales. This might be due to trust issues with your storefront’s design. By addressing these points, you can create a more professional and trustworthy experience for potential customers.

At RS, we offer premium Shopify themes that come with creative, high-quality banners to enhance the design of your store. Our clients have seen significant improvements in conversion rates using our themes.

We also provide six months of support, along with theme customization services. If you’re looking to revamp the look of your store, feel free to reach out — we’d love to help!

Hi @ChewChewChew ,

It’s Kate here from PageFly, a Shopify Landing Page Builder app. Congrats on launching! Your store looks fantastic and it’s clear you’ve put a lot of thought into it. I know it can be a bit discouraging if you’re not seeing the traffic or sales you’d like, so I wanted to share some tips that could help boost your store’s performance:

Homepage

The announcement bar has clear and engaging content. However, making it a sticky bar would keep it visible at all times, increasing the FOMO effect and encouraging users to make a purchase on their first visit.

Each section should fit on one screen to make it easier for users to quickly understand the content without scrolling. This improves readability, helps them find important information faster, and creates a cleaner, more organized look for your website. It also enhances the user experience and makes the site feel more professional.

The layout of this section seems disorganized, which can make your site look unprofessional and reduce credibility. I recommend adjusting it for a cleaner, more trustworthy appearance.

Product page

Make it easier for customers to buy by placing a visible “Add to Cart” button next to key product details. This helps reduce steps and encourages quick decisions, increasing the chances of a sale.

Organize the product features in an accordion style to keep the page shorter and easier to read. This layout lets buyers focus on one feature at a time, improving their experience and making it easier to decide.

Consider highlighting current promotions or discounts effectively on the homepage and product pages can attract more customers. Acquiring backlinks from reputable sources and avoiding links from third-party or untrusted sites will help enhance your SEO.

Track user behavior, sales, and conversion rates using Google Analytics and Shopify Analytics. Actively seeking customer feedback and incorporating it into your improvements will help continuously enhance the shopping experience. These steps should enhance user experience, boost SEO, and ultimately increase conversions on your Shopify store.

By focusing on these areas, you can significantly enhance your store’s user experience and drive more conversions. I hope you find these tips helpful for your Shopify store. Let’s continue to support each other in optimizing our stores!

Cheers! Kate | PageFly Team

Most importantly, go through all the pages on your site, see what the customer sees, test on different devices. On your About page, you have “[Your Company Name]”.If someone sees this they’re instantly bouncing. This shows the About page, a key component of your brand, does not actually represent your passion and unique mission. Have a mission, don’t use templates for your brand’s story, that should be unique. Be different, show personality.

Also that page has broken html:

For this type of product I would advertise directly on Google Ads / Google Shopping. Then you’re targeting people that are looking to buy. Social media ads usually convert at a lower rate, they’re good though for things that can get shared and draw in conversations.

I’d invest in a professional logo as well. It makes a big difference, it’s the first impression and also a key point to instill trust in a person browsing a random site.

It really just comes down to the basics:

  • Create solid branding and have a reason for existing

  • Test and fine tune your website and customer journey

  • Advertise directly to your target audience (investing in a professional marketer for at least a month will speed this and save you money)

Good luck

Hi there @ChewChewChew your store is quite impressive to start with. If I were to make some suggestions, the first thing is that you should consider adding videos to the product gallery to show customers a bit of insight into the items in action.
You sell a very unique type of product so it will make sense to include FAQs on the homepage as a means of shedding more light on the product and how it functions.

Let me know if you found these useful and I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks for the advice and assistance, we implemented these features.

Hi @ChewChewChew

I’ve taken a close look at your store, thechewcrewshop.com, and understand your concerns about the lack of sales despite active advertising efforts.

Store Design and User Experience:

  • First Impressions: Your homepage features a prominent announcement bar offering free shipping on orders over $50, which is great for attracting customers. However, ensuring that this bar is consistently visible can further encourage purchases.

  • Navigation: The main menu is straightforward, listing essential sections like ‘Home,’ ‘Shop,’ ‘About us,’ and ‘Track Your Order.’ This simplicity aids user navigation.

  • Product Presentation: Your products are displayed with clear images and prices. However, some product descriptions could benefit from more detailed information to help customers make informed decisions.

Content and Branding:

  • About Us Page: This page provides insight into your brand’s mission to help customers achieve a sculpted jawline. Enhancing this section with more personal stories or customer testimonials could build trust and engagement.

  • Blog: Your blog post titled “Finding the Perfect Jawline Enhancement Product for Your Unique Needs” is informative. Regularly updating the blog with related content can improve SEO and attract more visitors.

Social Media Presence:

  • Instagram: With 675 followers and 34 posts, your Instagram presence is growing. Engaging more with your audience through stories, reels, and interactive content can boost visibility.

  • TikTok: Platforms like TikTok are excellent for showcasing product demonstrations. Consistent posting and leveraging trending challenges can increase reach.

Advertising Efforts:

  • Meta Ads: Investing $6 daily in Meta ads has led to website clicks but limited sales. It might be beneficial to analyze the ad targeting parameters, such as audience demographics and interests, to ensure they align with your ideal customer profile. Additionally, experimenting with different ad creatives and copy could yield better results.

Recommendations:

  1. Enhance Product Descriptions: Provide more detailed and engaging descriptions, highlighting the benefits and unique features of each product.

  2. Customer Reviews: Incorporate customer reviews on product pages to build trust. Apps like Ryviu can help import reviews from platforms like AliExpress and Amazon.

  3. Website Performance: Ensure that your website loads quickly and is mobile-friendly, as many users shop via mobile devices.

  4. Professional Branding: Consider investing in a professional logo and cohesive branding elements to enhance credibility.

  5. SEO Optimization: Optimize your website’s SEO by using relevant keywords in product titles, descriptions, and blog posts to improve organic search visibility.

  6. Google Ads: In addition to social media advertising, consider using Google Ads to target users actively searching for jawline enhancement products.

By implementing these strategies, you can improve user experience, build trust, and potentially increase sales.

If you need any other assistance, feel free to ask, and I will try my best to support you.

Best regards,

Daisy.
