How to fix this issues?

You can try to check these suggestions to troubleshoot the problem:

  • Check Your Payment Gateway Settings:

Go to your Shopify admin panel → Settings > Payments.
Verify that your payment gateway is set up correctly and active. If you’re using Shopify Payments, make sure it’s properly set up with your bank account information and is not on hold or restricted.

  • Check for Errors or Warnings:

On the Payments settings page, look for any errors or warning messages. Shopify may display notifications if there are issues with your payment settings or if additional information is needed.

  • Verify Your Payment Processor Credentials:

If you’re using a third-party payment processor, double-check your credentials (e.g., API keys) to ensure they are correct and up-to-date.

  • Check for Store Restrictions:

Some stores may have payment restrictions based on location, high-risk products, or other factors. Review Shopify’s acceptable use policy and ensure your store complies with it.

  • Verify Your Store Status:

Check if your store is on a free trial. During the trial period, payment processing is disabled. Once you choose a Shopify plan and provide payment details, payment processing will be enabled.

Due to a lack of visibility through our community forum, I’m unable to determine the exact cause of the error message your customers are receiving at checkout. However, this error message may appear for a couple of reasons.

Could you ensure your Settings > Payments > Shopify Payments section is not set to test mode?

Another common reason is due to account verification. If your Shopify Payments account is in the process of verification, you may notice a banner on your Shopify admin sharing instructions (ex. submitting requested documents) or you may receive an email from our escalated team.

However, as mentioned above, due to lack of visibility it would be best to connect with our support team via the Shopify Help Center so we can accurately inspect the issue and share what next steps to take.
