I’m experiencing a critical usability issue with the Shopify app that is severely impacting my ability to manage orders effectively.
Problem Description: The app is automatically refreshing at an extremely high frequency, causing the interface to constantly jump back to the top of the order list. This makes it impossible to:
- Review individual orders thoroughly
- Process orders efficiently
- Maintain my position in the order queue
- Complete basic administrative tasks
Business Impact: This issue is preventing me from fulfilling customer orders in a timely manner from the mobile app, which directly affects customer satisfaction and my business operations. The constant refreshing interrupts every workflow, making the app essentially unusable for order management.
Technical Details:
- The refresh/polling rate appears to be set too aggressively. I have checked this on multiple phones (all Android). This has not changed.
- The app loses scroll position after each refresh
- This occurs consistently across all order management screens
- Issue persists across app sessions
Requested Resolution:
- Reduce the auto-refresh frequency to a reasonable interval
- Implement scroll position preservation during refreshes
